Which in itself does not guarantee a whole lot, including justice. The commander is either given a new assignment or granted an early retirement with a full pension. Reference someone like 7437.

In those cases, yeah, those guys with 20 years there isn't much you can do. When I left Ft Riley the post commander was relieved. Good fucking riddance but yeah - hes pulling a full retirement.
It's been my experience when a guy an o3-o5 guy is relieved there is little to no chance of a pension. And I think many of those people relieved in the 7th fleet fall into that category.
