I wonder what will happen to the teen suicide rates over the next 5-10 years.

Kids change their minds so often i dont know how this can be healthy.

I quoted in the OP that the father took him to a transgender community and said "She opened me. I am her dad, but she is a leader for me"

I'd bet these parents are encouraging this too.

Another decent publication turned into a rag I will no longer read.

I didn't read it so I don't know the context but just because they're covering it doesn't mean they're advocating it. However you feel about trannies, it is something that is happening so it deserves coverage just like some strange African tribe does.
