The pay scale has always gone up for fighters who continue to win and usually always go down when they lose.
One thing that I can probably bank on is, there is NO WAY they are reducing McGregor's salary even though he lost to Nate. No way, no how! McGregor is getting at least the exact same salary as the first fight, probably more.

The ball is in Nate's corner at this moment in time and, I am sure he will negotiate more money for rematch......If Nate wins again, it is only natural to think that he should earn more money fighting whoever is next but, DO NOT trust that UFC will do that. If they pair him against someone who makes $200,000 a fight, I just think they will try and lowball him based upon the other guys lack of drawing power.
If Nate loses, how low will they drop his salary considering he was fighting for dogsh*t before McGregor?

Anyone believe UFC will be fair to Nate, win or lose?

it is not rocket science.
If Nate beats Conor and his next fight pulls in huge PPV numbers, he will make more money.
If it tanks, he won't

How can they lower McGregor's pay when they have him signed to a contract?

I think Gregor and Diaz golden payouts are over. Surely 200 will be big but i dont see it beating 196 ppv if u ask me.

He will probably command more money, but as I see it, he maybe doesn't hold as many cards as you'd think: there was no belt on the line so he doesn't have a belt for McGregor to take back and as far as I can tell, most people would prefer for Conor to go back down and defend his belt. All he has going for him is that Conor and the UFC seem to want him to avenge the loss. Unusual situation.

Depends on the rest of the card, I feel like this card has to have huge fights on it and if so conor will certainly be main or co-main which diaz will get ppv points so imo he will make much more money at 200 vs mcgregor. Now after that unless he's fighting for a title on a stacked card his actual paycheck will be much smaller.

If I'm right, during the negotiations for the Conor fight Nate stipulated a contract that granted him 500k for the Conor fight (with no win bonuses) and 250k (with no win bonuses) for his next X fight (5?).

I'm sure that, if the rematch happens, Nate would bank at least 1 million for ufc 200 and 500k for his next X fights.

After that, even if he win, he will not be able to have another increase.

The UFC can terminate or renegotiate a fighter's contract after a loss. This clause was leaked out I believe twice during the Overeem gym dispute and Randy Couture legal issues with the UFC.

Maybe McGregor's will be lower, Diaz should demand more. The UFC and Conor want this rematch a lot more than Nate does, make them pay big big bucks for it

Nate wouldn't be anywhere near UFC 200 if he wasn't fighting Conor.

Depends, if they put a shitty rematch between holm and tate on there then no it won't. Who wants to see a replica of 196.

They should have put cejudo v MM on free tv and saved rory v wonderboy for this event and I for one would not mind RDA going to 170 and fighting lawler for the title.

WOW!!!.... Imagine that happened in baseball?
If A-Rod doesn't jack one every at bat, he is fired!

By all accounts Nate made millions for the first fight. He'll probably make a bit more but not a crazy amount more. It's honestly probably not worth the bad blood to try to get even more. He's making huge money either way.

Performance related pay.

You keep winning you get paid more, it's why Nate's old contract was so bad he signed a new one before he fought Benson but it was a big signing fee and would've paid big if he was on a win streak but he lost a bunch of fights so he was getting peanuts, less than his previous contract.

Nate was on a contract where he was getting 37k to show and 37k extra to win

Nate signs a new contract and title fight Vs Bendo gets 50k
15k for losing to Josh Thomson
15K + 15K for a win against Maynard
16k for fighting RDA
20k + 20K for Michael Johnson
500k big money + rumoured PPV points for the Conor match

Also look at Mendes he got 500k for fighting Conor, didn't see that kind of money for his next fight.
