I found this pretty interesting. Conor makes it seem like he'll fight anyone and anywhere the UFC wants and there was that story about waking him up and him saying they're all the same then going back to sleep.

Can we stop saying Conor doesn't decide with his team and pick any of his fights?

Diaz and Mendes were the least prepared and easiest replacement fights at the time. There's no way the UFC would give him the toughest fight as a last second replacement and risk losing the biggest PPV fights they had with Conor fighting Aldo and RDA.

There were a lot of worse guys than Mendes they could have gave Conor. Frankie is the only one who would have been a worse matchup.

Dana said, 'This is the fight Conor wanted'.

That's why this fight was made.

No one is pretending that Conor doesn't pick his fights, we all know that.

He was just about to fight someone he picked, the Champion at the next weight class up (RDA), for chrissakes.

Then the word was he would probably choose the next heavier Champ after that (Robbie).

Trying to make the case that Conor picks easy opponents at this point is just sad, and reeks of simple haterade.

They could have given him Guida but who the hell would pay $60 to watch Conor fight Guida?

Yeah, him fighting RDA was a big fight but there's a bunch of Conor fans that don't think Conor picked Nate and that he would have fought any of the top 5 fighters currently training.

This one is a style match up tailor made for Conor so he doesn't risk losing his chance at fighting RDA.

Are you saying you wouldn't rather watch Conor fight Pettis, Alvarez, Ferugson, or Khabib?

You REALLY think he didnt pick the fight he wanted? The PPV is built on his back,of course he is gonna get what he wants. The fact that he faces anyone at all on 11 days notice really should be enough, but of course it isnt for some people. People would have bitched no matter who he picked.

Connor wants a 10 day notice Diaz, he gets a 10 day notice Diaz. Easy payday for him, plus this sets up more payouts for Dana/Connor/UFC in the future.

I would rather watch Conor fight Nate than any of those fights.

Those are all great fights though.

lol to each his own. That makes no sense to me though.

If he was already going to beat RDA then he would have no problem beating any of those top 5 fighters anyways.

Out of all the opponents who asked to fill in, the UFC picks the 1 guy who's TD ability sucks....

I mean, let's get real here.

Conor says he knew he was going to fight Diaz. He has been training for Diaz.

Nate says that they were calling him for weeks.

But why would RDA fake his injury? Unless he was injured weeks ago, or was paid by the UFC to hold off on his fight. So many variables in here. Why doesn't Conor want to take the 155 belt and be the first man to hold two belts in the UFC to make history and THEN GO UP to 170 and fight Diaz? Why make this fight now, when it would've been MORE special if he beat RDA for the 155 belt and came in and fought Diaz at 170 and then fight Robbie Lawler for the WW belt?

That would've been way more Epic...

he doesnt train for specific opponents, so your post is factually incorrect

also he said he knew they would fight eventually..... that last word really does make all the difference

They very same people who pay to watch him fight any match up....

His fanbase is compromised of the entire country of Ireland. They are fucking loyal, and they are incredible fans. They would watch him fight ANYONE and give their money.

THAT is why Conor makes very good money.

Nobody needs to make an excuse for Nate. It's obvious he's going to lose.

Conor's most likely going to end up as a -600 favourite.

Ireland doesn't pay for PPV and he sold 800K fighting Mendes. You think he would have sold that many fighting Guida?

2-weeks notice Mendes, 1-year layoff Aldo, 10-days notice Diaz.

    Wow. Just wow. Much convenient.
