I'm also high..

This german suplex to a rock bottom needs to be a pro wrestling finisher

Morning here so sober.. but still agree.

Not much other possible outcomes than a 5th round gogoplata.

I'm high as a kite, but even I can't see Diaz winning and I love the guy

Thanks! Thing is we have to live here sober from time to time. HUGE difference.

Nate is as good as his brother at this point and arguably even bigger at 170, at least in his last fight. Negligible boxing difference and very similar jiu jitsu pedigree

could see it looking like nick gsp except gsp is older . He was at his absolute best against nick

Nate has superior boxing on the feet and is trickier than most gsp could fight off his back, particularly more of a threat in that regard now that he's bigger / more filled out and strength wont be as big of a factor. Historically strength disadvantages have been a big issue for Nate as he's predominantly raw vegan during his camp at 155. Now he's eating a more balanced diet and that doesn't seem to be nearly the case. I personally like him more at 170 for that reason

Gsp would likely win but itd be a fight, Nate is just as good as his brother. People haven't realized that yet

it will look a lot like nick's fight with gsp but i think nate might do better on the ground.... so you might be right TS.

and at his absolute peak and should be analyzed as such but the extent of peoples logic is fights from 5+years ago. Which is ridiculous and child like analysis regardless of the fighter. Not saying you're doing that just speaking generally. Kevin Lee got knocked out by a jiu jitsu guy 2 years ago and is now a top 5, future champ. Countless examples of this. Things change, fighters evolve and only the most recent form produces the most accurate assessment. Regardless of the fighter

Not an effin chance. GSP will jab him and run through him with double leg and pound the crap out of him. I see Nate marking him up during time on feet but 3/4 of this fight will be GSP on top

I was not commenting on this fight, but I will, and Rory would embarrass him again, and send him to another division, again.

Nate Diaz is at his peak? How can conclude that? What are you making this claim on?

Things change, and that's what needs to happen for Diaz, something needs to change for Nate Diaz to suddenly improve more than the younger man who tooled him in the stand-up, clinch and on the mat, in this third UFC fight, while Nate was in his double digits for UFC fights.

Nate was getting smacked up, engaged the clinch and was ragged dolled for it. Rory even made a comment "I wasn't trying to takedowns, he just kept giving them up". Or something similar. Getting suplexed around was a more acceptable option for Nate Diaz then getting tooled on this feet by this green Cnadian corny looking white boy nobody heard of.

If you see a path for victory for Nate over Rory, I'd love to hear it, but the vague "things change, Tyron and Nate are better, older while Rory is younger and getting worse" doesn't fly with me. It's a bunch of nothing.

neither was i

I wasn't saying he'd beat Rory, he wouldn't

just that its silly to bring up fights from 7 years ago when breaking down the current skillset of a fighter and how they matchup against a particular opponent

I think you're responding to arguments i didn't make

and yes, Objectively speaking nate is in his prime. This is the most polished in every aspect of his game he has ever been along with the biggest he's been. Why would he not be at his age?

relax on the incessant need to defend canada bro

im from van, trained with dudes rory has u don't see me doin that shit, lol

Probably not though.

Sure if you want to break down this fight, and end up in the same position/conclusion. Feel free. I was not attempting to do so, but I know I've seen nothing note-worthy from Nate over the passed 4 years that will effect final conclusion.

Physical and mental peaks are different, and different for everybody. 33 is a great age for a fighter, but I've only seen Nate 4 times in 4 years. MJ is 1-5 and Conor is a great match-up for Nate. I'm not going to credit Nate's success in those fights to a sudden peak in performance.

You wanted to suggest that fight goes different based "things change". That's much more frustrating to me than any Canada hate. It's a hope and excuse.

I don't want or need to hear that. If something has changed, please feel free to point it out.

his boxing has improved drastically, drastically. Boxing is sort of my realm, never was impressed with his hands. Stepped it up a lot against mj in that sense, stepped it up further in both Conor fights. He is currently among the best boxers in mma. Even guys like amir khan have been impressed with his game, long time training partner of andre ward

Jiu jitsu looked tight as fuck with what little we've seen in the past few years .. Just got his 2nd degree black belt and has been training with Kron (Ricksons son) in jiu jitsu for the past few 3-4 years He is a very high level black belt, that much is certain. There's really no arguing that this isn't the peak of his jiu jitsu either

at the end of the day it's about assessing these things technically
