“Score one for Nate Diaz against his former representation.
A lawsuit filed by the fighter’s former agent, the Ballengee Group, was dismissed in Dallas County District Court, as a judge claimed the case had no jurisdiction in the state. TMZ Sports was first to report the news.
"The Court ruled the case should have not have been filed in Texas because Nate has not fought in Texas and dismissed the case,” Jeremiah Reynolds, Diaz’s attorney, told TMZ Sports.
The Ballengee group was seeking more than $1 million for breach of contract after alleging that Diaz terminated his contract with the company without paying for services rendered.
The company claimed to have “advised and supported” Diaz ahead of bouts against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on Fox 13 in December 2014 and against Michael Johnson at UFC on Fox 17 in December 2015.
Additionally, The Ballengee Group claims to have negotiated bout agreements for Diaz’s fights against Conor McGregor at UFC 196 and at UFC 200. After McGregor was pulled from UFC 200, Ballengee then attended negotiations in Stockton, Calif., in May 2016 to finalize a bout between Diaz and McGregor at UFC 202. However, Diaz terminated his contract with the company in July 2016.”
Big Ups, Nate!
"My Money!"
