According to Bloody Elbow, Khabib was offered the main event fight against Diaz for UFC 200, ultimately Khabib is declining the fight, because the fight is taking place 4 days in to Ramadan. When he comes back in the late summer/early fall months, what if he gets matched up with Nate Diaz?

Diaz has quite a bit of reach on Khabib and might have the superior submission game, but Khabib has some next level control, I could see him neutralizing Diaz's BJJ maybe.

On paper, Diaz is the better striker, but Khabib has been able to outstrike top LW's like current champ RDA in their bout.

It's a tough one to call, I could see Diaz winning by submission or Khabib winning a one-sided decision in the end.

Any predicitons?

How is that a tough one to call? Nate doesn't do well against grapplers.

Khabib would not trade with Nate on the feet. He would wrestle the shit out of him.

Could get interesting on the ground though.

I got Khabib by UD.

Nate always has tough time with high level wrestlers.

Yeh not sure how this is considered a tough fight for khabib. Diaz doesn't have one punch power and realistically needs that vs khabib, whose grappling is easily good enough to control where the fight takes place and avoid subs. Horrible stylistic match up for Diaz.

It took a 1-2 to wobble Mcgregor. McG has a very tough chin. I think Nate will surprise a lot of you in the future. He is not wrestler proof, but I think he is going to do much better against them.

Khabib: I was offered Georges St-Pierre or Diaz for UFC 200

"Yesterday the UFC called me with a proposal to hold the main bout of the evening against Nate Diaz, or against Georges St-Pierre," Khabib said during a live interview on Match TV. "They hope that I will take the fight. But it is four days after the month of Ramadan, and it would be hard physically to fight five rounds. I'll be back in September and October."

Ramadan in 2016 will start on Monday, the 6th of June and will continue for 30 days until Tuesday, the 5th of July, though the exact dates differ depending on the country. UFC 200 will take place on July 9th, which is just a single day following the Eid Holiday. Khabib, a devout Muslim, will unlikely be able to get himself into adequate shape to challenge the former champion of the division above him."

No interest in that one whatsoever. Remember Rory hanging on to his hips and tossing him around? Khebab would do that for 5 rounds.

Am I the only one that finds Khebab asking for time off after he's been out for 2 years laughable?

Agree, Barbarian.
On their feet Nate has the con, Eagle only has one way to win I reckon, however Nate could suck the air out of Khabib and submit him too.
I'm leaning to Nate.
Killer match up.....

Easy win for Khabib. Pushes him into the cage, gets him in the clinch. Slams or trips Nate to the canvas and starts dropping bombs.

Conors coach was right but he went about it in a drunken stupid Irish way. But also I salute a man dedicated to his religion in a world full of atheist crybaby flakes

Seriously?

Khabib would destroy Nate, it would be worse than the Rory Mac fight.

Nate doesn't always read the part in the book where he's supposed to lose, Psycho.
He's evolved since beating Notorious and could take this.....

And Nate would no take it because it's not a money fight for him and like you say: his chances for a "W" are pretty slim too. So why would he do that. However it won't happen because of Kahabib's religiosity.

Nate would get launched again and again until he lost heart. Then the beating would come.

^this. The Conor win has blinded everyone. Nate has losses to Guida, Stevenson and Maynard; Khabib is a monster version of all 3 combined.
