Where does this rank on the all time list? Surely top 10. Probably not as bad as:

Lesnar vs Couture
Hendo vs Bisping
Sonnen vs Jones

I don't count late injury replacements because those are more understandable than actually booking someone and planning on letting them challenge.

think Nate vs T Wood is comparable to Diaz vs GSP as far as merit goes. Neither Diaz bro deserved a shot at 170 lb gold. Not even close.

Below Lesnar and Hendo but above Sonnen

Ya. Woodley going to beat up Nate sadly. They both just fighting to make that $

On par with Shael at the very least

Brock is still the worst imo
2-1 in MMA
1-1 in the UFC

You think Chael was more deserving for a 205 lb title fight than Diaz is for this fight? He was coming off of a loss and hadn't fought at 205 in a decade.

Probably close either way. Neither deserving in any way shape or form.

Funny so many of these undeserved shots wind up with upsets or near upsets though isn't it? Serra over GSP. Brock over Couture. Hendo realistically beat up Bisping.

GSP vs Bisping ?

Hendo vs Bisping ?

Is it even the most undeserved in recent times?

Nate has got a recent finish over the #2 p4p MMA fighter on earth!!!
i can't even type that with a straight face but I tried.

At least Brock was coming off a win.

Even though it was an interim title, Justin Eilers facing Arlovski. The guy was knocked dead 4 months prior = title shot.

Possibly the worst one. Hendo knocked out Bisping and now they rematched. Lesnar, due to his size, had potential to beat up most of the HW roster. Sonnen fighting Jones is a hard sell, but wasn't it on short notice? He also was a legit elite MW but it was obvious he would get tooled by Jones. The only reason Diaz is fighting for the belt is because of the money. He's a good LW and he has excellent boxing but there are clearly plenty of WWs that should be ahead of him. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins though, but he doesn't deserve the fight.

Sonnen v Jones was not short notice they did a TUF season lmao.

You can't be serious with GSP. Someone that went undefeated for that long gets the benefit of the doubt in their return. Of course it wasn't completely merited but compared to the rest of these fights being discussed? Come on!

No use in debating what pile of shit stinks more

Nate Diaz has a win over the GOAT, that to me, makes him worthy of getting a title shot with any champion up to 185.

Gus/DC was a bad one. Gus just got destroyed by Rumble and already lost to Jones. Had no business fighting for the belt that soon. Shame that the division is so thin that he’ll probably get the next shot too. He’s the Frankie Edgar of LHW.

No
It was originally short notice to save UFC 151 but Jones refused, still the UFC liked the matchup so much that they built a TUF season around it.

It can't be argued that Shael (who had just got finished by the MW champion) was anymore deserving than Nate is.

We are also talking about recieving a title shot on merit, not based on a fight that was no longer relevant (Bisping/Hendo 1) or potential (Brock), neither of those things make them deserving.

I know you're joking, but careful some here might take you serious, then how silly would you feel ?.

Nate Diaz will be in for a long and painfull night
he matches up against wood better than rda or colby does

deservedness or not, you don't sleep on a Diaz bro.

Nate's been peaking skillwise in his past few fights, he's far more on the level of Nick at this stage of his career.
