Difference being the UFC may pay more for Nate thinking they will get a better return.
Only if Khabib yells at Dana between rounds again.
Fuck yeah please Nate take this!!!
He could be a huge draw right now he is the guy who beat Conor McGregor they can sell this shit and Nate is a fuckin boss he can beat Khabib if he comes in like he did against Johnson and Conor.
Already got your team whooped backstage WSOF come get the rest Khabib!!
Do you think Tony Ferguson vs Khabib is really gonna sell?
They can sell Nate right now so they can give him more $$
True, which they undoubtedly would, but if you take Nate's word for it he will only come back for Conor, and the UFC definitely needs Conor in the fight to justify paying Nate's wages.
I'm sure Nate is a strong sell on his own now, but I seriously doubt the math checks out if he wants his Conor Fight money to fight Khabib.
But who the hell knows. I can see why the UFC would put Nate in there because it could easily justify the trilogy fight.
I doubt Nate would accept it. He doesn't give a fuck about any belts, he just wants the biggest money fight(s) he can possibly get, which is Conor. A fight with Khabib doesn't really do much for Nate in all honesty. He might take it just because he doesn't like the guy though, who knows.
I think Nate will be retiring really soon and I can see him doing just that whenever he faces Conor for a 3rd time.
Same with Nick. I see him finally taking off for good really soon. Both of them are just trying to get as much money as possible and then retire.
I don't blame them for doing this either. This is truly what it's all about for the fighters. Some of them talk about how they just want to entertain fans and all that, but once they see how shitty their check is, they often change their tune pretty quickly and realize they have to fight for more than just entertaining people.
How is that the Diaz bros fault? UFC doesn't follow rankings.
I think a fight with Nate is absolutely a bigger draw than with Tony, but I'm not so sure the UFC would agree to pay him what he wants without Conor on the other side to guarantee a massive PPV.
I really wish Nate would main event a card right now and they market it big to see what kind of numbers it would do, im curious
I think he has some big casual draw right now....He could cash in right now he should fight not sit out
Kebab fans would kill themselves if Nate subbed him
I'm curious as well. When I watched the MJ fight he really impressed me and I was ready to believe he was in the prime of his career, actually. Then he comes out and get's massive exposure with the Conor fights.
I'm not sure what he's thinking, but it feels like a huge missed opportunity for him to just sit out and wait for Conor. All he needs is 1 win and they can EASILY sell the trilogy fight.
Well, they are very similar in many ways, they're two of the biggest LW's on the roster with great gas tanks, they're very long and extremely durable, they both have both have excellent BJJ and relentless striking.
I would give Nate the edge in the stand up, but Tony has the better wrestling so i'd like to see how that fight played out.
The Khabib fight is much more simple, If Khabib can get Nate down easily it would most likely be a matter of time until the ref pulls him off Nate...
Nate does have a very good guard but Khabib leaves very little space for anyone to even attempt any subs.
Here we go again with another interim belt, they just have these things stamped up and waiting in some rubbermaid totes and throw them around like hotcakes. What a joke the UFC is
That doesn't make any sense, why would offering Nate the worst match up available be a good way to set up the 3rd Conor fight, unless you think he'd win, in which case I think he's pretty fucking relevant.
Nate gets merked.
I agree, I think Nate would outdraw 99% of the roster at the moment, probably do around 500k with the right card.
No way Diaz wants this fight lol.
holy fuck! please Nate accept the fight!
50-42 with Diaz claiming robbery
