I have no tolerance for legalistic arguments that the Conor fight is a non factor because it was at a higher weight. What is clear, is that Nate is fighting at an extremely high level and would be a heavy favorite against LW staples such as Cerrone and Pettis. Conor doesn't need an official LW UFC resume either to be considered as a top tier win for Diaz. Although Conor has one ( Poirier and Siver)

On to the list:
1. Bj
2. Bendo
3. Frankie Edgar
4. Donald Cerrone
5. Takanori Gomi
6. RDA
7. Anthony Pettis
8. Eddie Alvarez
9. Nate Diaz
10. Shinya Aoki

I said...

1) Gomi/Penn / Penn/Gomi

The others not enought epic to enter in a GOAT list...

cerrone is higher than nate, pettis, and RDA?

Respect your opinion, and I understand what you mean. Those are indeed the two most epic and exciting fighters. This is why I ridicule the GSP is GOAT above Fedor and Anderson contingent on here. They don't understand true greatness. But there is something to be said for longevity and strength of competition, hence Bendo and Cerrone ranked so highly.

GSP had longevity and stronger comp than either Fedor or Anderson on the whole. That's why he is rated so highly.

1.a. Gomi
1.b. Penn
3. Bendo
4. Melendez
5. Aoki
6. Edgar
7. RDA
8. Hansen
9. Kawajiri
10. Pettis

Pains me to say but Guida and Florian might be as deserving to be at the bottom of the list as guys like Alvarez, Diaz and Aoki.

I'd say Sherk as well, but as we all know, steroid use disqualifies your from any GOAT list.

Cerrone is too damn high.

I put Cerrone above Pettis because he

Fedor best wins Prime Nog twice, Prime Crocop. GSP best wins, Condit, Hendricks, and old Matt Hughes. Argument ended right there. Longevity? GSP retires at 33 never to fight again while Fedor fights on in spite of Father Time.

Lol at Gomi not being 1. And Cerrone being anywhere near a goat list. Gilbert should be on there.

Like I said. Nog twice and prime Crocop
vs Condit, Hendricks, and past his prime Hughes. End of contest.

This is just going to devolve into the weekly 'Shit on BJ Penn' thread.

No love for Pulver?

You are sleeping on Cerrone Wec history and him chasing the record for most UFC LW wins.

How in the holy fuck does the OP not have Melendez in it? lol

You could argue Penn/Gomi until the cows come home, but the OP not having Melendez in it is absurd, and RDA is creeping up on a top ten spot.

Gilbert is great but not better than a guy like Alvarez in my opinion. He fought a lot of underwhelming competition in Strikeforce. Jorge and Aoki were good wins though.
