Naoya 'Monster' Inoue to fight Jamie McDonnell for title on ESPN+

Top Rank on Monday night finalized a deal with Teiken Promotions to acquire the American rights to the card headlined by Japanese star Naoya "Monster" Inoue, who will move up in weight to go for a world title in his third weight class when he challenges secondary bantamweight titlist Jamie McDonnell at the Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo.

I thinkk he'll put up a tougher fight than most expect him to, but no, I don't think he has the power or footwork necessary to beat Inoue. McDonnell is a good fighter though, so this should be a good test to see how Inoue handles BW, J-boxing has been taking some Ls lately...

i think inoue will be aggressive, walk down mcdonnell, and punish the body
mcdonnell wears down his opponents over the long fight, but he doesn't have the power to trade
for every punch traded, inoue will inflict a lot more damage
lets see how the power translates at championship bantam level

Inoue brought in UK boxer Raza Hamza to spar. 5' 10" & fights at featherweight (126). Raza said Inoue is as good as "they" say he is.

He got 2 gift decisions against Tomoki Kameda, lost to Solis, and was about to get TKO'd by Solis again before it was rules a No Contest.

The only guy he beat was the same bum that got fed to Ryan Garcia and was KO'd in the first round.

Inoue but Higa is probably the next star. dynamic style with huge power, very exciting and an interesting look. that being said he needs some more ring time before we start comparing him to the top guys on the island now.
