An internal memo reportedly hacked from the personal computer of Nancy Pelosi, the top Democrat in the US House of Representatives, shows how officials were briefed on how to respond to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement – including "tactics" on how to answer questions by activists.

...

Under a section marked "tactics", Perry instructs Democratic Party officials to "meet with local activists". He wrote: "If approached by BLM activists, campaign staff should offer to meet with local activists. Invited BLM attendees should be limited. Please aim for personal or small group meetings." He advised to "listen to their concerns" but "don't offer support for concrete policy positions."

Basically, they said to just placate them by listening, but don't promise any policy changes. They also said not to let large groups of them into your meetings, and to not say things like All Lives Matter because it might anger them.

Ok..... What is there to discuss about this?

That's smart advice. What's the issue here?

And isn't that what the right would prefer?

lip service, black vote, anything new here?

Even the Dems realize BLM is crazy

I wonder how much Comrade Drumpf pays Gruccifer or does Putin pay him?

Pander to black people, don't make any promises that they can hold you to, and get their votes. Democrats in a nutshell. Do nothing and then accuse Republicans of doing nothing.

This....why is everyone giving ironic ass responses here

Why would a rep meeting with any interest group agree to policy changes on the spot? You're reading into this what you want to read, not what it says. Just because you're used to everything being a racist euphemism doesn't mean other people think or act that way.

So from that quote/article we assume it's the activists bringing the ideas for change and that the democrats have none? Not only do they have none (or are at least being instructed as such), but they aren't even allowed to acknowledge a good idea when they hear it? I wonder if there's another email that says to bring any and all ideas, gleaned from the protesters or otherwise, to the committee so those ideas could be spoon fed and attributed to the candidate for President. Or is it just that they'll suppress them all until the candidate settles on one and then champion that as the great idea that will solve all the problems (this time)?

You would agree though that what's being presented looks very much like placating and very little like problem solving?

No because they stress that it's important to understand the concerns of the interest group. There's nothing there about placating. I don't care how BLM takes it- as far as the organized faction goes, they have already said that anything less than concrete policy changes is merely placating. They put the democrats in a no-win situation on that, and the dems have made the right choice. Your suggestion that they aren't allowed to acknowledge good ideas is not supported. Specifically, avoiding commitment to concrete policies is cautioned against.

She took that from how the right treated 9-11 1st responders. Just listen to them and then don't do shit

It's amazing the Dems are able to garner votes by being so utterly full of shit.

If all one did was listen, would that be closer to placating or problem solving?

It's supported by being told not to offer support for anything (with no exceptions being made for any obviously good ideas). Imagine you're concerned about police brutality and you meet with your local rep. You suggest body cams, which the department doesn't use. The rep says "I see. I'll have to get back to you on that." You say? Personally I figure the guy doesn't agree, doesn't care, is a moron, or somebody else is making his decisions. I certainly don't think to myself that it's great to feel acknowledged. :D

It is funny to see all these people say it is normal and ok. Basically saying they are giving their voters a pacifer, while they do nothing. Pretty messed up, rather than tackling the issues at hand... Oh wait.. government.

Also funny people blame Trump and Donald for the hacks.. I think this is obvious denial, and a show of fear.

Both Candidates suck, and people in this subforum are pathetic. Funny tho.
