Straight outta compton
Can't wait till we get to the 2016 list.
The Hateful Eight is probably my favorite Tarantino movie. The confined nature of the movie works great with Tarantino's talent with dialog.
The Martian, fun movie. I feel like Im a little bias as I saw this movie on a cruise and this movie always reminds me of those fun times. I like Matt Damon, the setting, the sense of adventure and danger of the situation, and seeing the world work together is rather heartwarming.
Man from Uncle I think is a rather underrated spy movie. Fun ride
THE MARTIAN is also underrated. I feel like these, along with LOGAN LUCKY and THE NICE GUYS and, to some degree, ANT-MAN form a quintet of super fun films that really should be more popularly regarded.
Really? The movie was critically acclaimed and did rather well, not sure if underrated. Maybe because people seem to see it as a good movie rather than great movie it could be underrated.
As for "The Nice Guys", now that is criminally underrated. On my top 5 favorite movies of all time. I usually don't care for that time period, but the dialog and chemistry between Gosling and Crowe were absolute gold. I hate how it underperformed in theaters because a sequel is highly unlikely.
That's sort of what I mean. Ridley Scott's catalog sort of gets swept into Prime and Lesser categories, not to mention Damon's diminished physical commitment to roles occasionally lowers the audience's opinion -- so I'm coming at it from that angle as well. I just rarely hear about it and yeah I agree it's really strong.
Mad Max:Fury Road
Honorable mention to Ant-Man, Spotlight, Inside Out, and Room
It's really good.
1. Mad Max Fury Road
2. Inside Out
3. The Martian
Not a bad year for films. Nothing truly amazing, but I really enjoyed a good 6-7 of those.
This was a good year for films.
7. Straight Outta Compton
5. The Big Short
4. The Revenant
3. The Martian
2. Mad Max Fury Road
Couldn't decide on my third between Revenant, Martian, and Hateful 8.
Straight Outta Compton
Haven't seen any others, seeing a few on this list that I wanna but didn't get around to
The Big Short
HM to Fury Road, Force Awakens, Jurassic World, and Straight Outta Compton.
Huh, it appears all 3 of my favorites from that year are Westerns.
