At my first jiujitsu class, the main thing they had us drill was the following armbar setup: While locked up, you put your shin across their belly, pull them down with you and to the side, then swing your other leg over for the armbar. They taught us it seated and standing and had some of the advanced students show how to make it a flying armbar. Anywho, does this technique have a name?
I call it the falling armbar. I got a sweet one in comp once. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KN76SDNmfeo
great use of it to counter what I want to say was an attempt at osoto gari...which to me is just an outside leg reap but hey osoto gari sounds cooler.
