I'm talking about years you have to put into it to reach a certain level to obtain a high belt like black belt or something...

Wrestling and Boxing I would assume would be the cheapest...I know Taekwondo and BJJ are pretty expensive....

You can try for years and never reach a top level in any of them. Im sure in some you can obtain a belt of high ranking but that wouldn't mean you could put it to good use. Wrestling has no rankings like that and you could wrestle 20 yrs and not be elite or near the top.

It's gotta be BJJ.

Call tuition $150/month. I think that has become a pretty common rate, even possibly low-balling it.

That's 150 x 12 = 1800 per annum.
Average 10 years to black belt is 18,000 dollars simply in tuition. Training simply for those ten years and you're a joe shmo hobbyist black belt.
Considering competitors, that doesn't cover the cost of extra gis for rotation or even specifically for competition, seminars, the competitions themselves, travel expenses. You might rank faster, but the cost would probably still exceed the hobbyists.

I know so many brahs who have gotten into BJJ the past few years and spend more time and money on gear than anything else.

BJJ is the most expensive.

TKD is expensive too, but thats because they charge you for everything: belt fee, testing fee, breaking boards fee, sparring fee, whatever.

any martial art that required you to use GI, because GI is so expensive

Martial arts are not expensive, gyms and trainers are expensive. You can learn great MT/BJJ with some good, humble team that charges you minimum and you can learn absolutely nothing in some huge, 200$ a month franchise.

In many cases, the trendy arts are quite expensive because many people try to catch their trend wave. But you can always find a good coach if you search enough.

Im sick of people saying training is "expensive."

I pay 300 a month at my gym for box, mai thai and BJJ classes+ strength and conditioning program and sparring and legitimate professions instructors. This also includes great mitwork practice and sparring. For 10 dollars a day you can guarantee yourself that if you keep this up for about a year, you will be in the best shape of your life and confident too. Lazy fatsos spend 10 dollars a day on fast food and have no problem with it killing them but training hard a good gym every day is "expensive"

Lost values.

Depends on where you live and what you buy. My judo gi costs $70 and I could find an even cheaper (decent) one. There are places where you could train for as little as $25/month.
