I'll go first. Carlos Condit,
Sure maybe he didn't have great wrestling but the guy had decent submissions and great striking. and a really good chin. He's never been knocked out in what? like 45 fights. Not to mention he took bombs from Woodley, Pre Usada Hendricks, Lawler etc and they don't even seem to faze him much.

He almost beat GSP and imo he beat Robbie Lawler. His fights are always so fun. I mean
Condit vs Lawler
Condit vs GSP
Condit vs Hendricks
Condit vs Hardy
etc.
Something about his fighting style is just so entertaining to watch and I don't think he gets enough credit. He's in my top 10 greatest welterweights of all time.
Plus he has a decently good resume.

Nick Diaz
Hardy
Alves
Brown
KampMann
Ellenberger
Macdonald
Larson
Etc

Who's a fighter you think doesn't get enough credit?

Aleksei Oleinik

Dude has been fighting before some of his opponents were even born, and has won fights in 4 different decades. He also usually puts on exciting fights, win or lose. In his 60 wins, he's only gone to decision 5 times. He's a rare breed in the HW division with his slick and relentless submission game, and always a tough out for his opponents. The Ezekiel choke really should be renamed as the Oleinik choke as he has 14 Ezekiel choke wins under his belt

Jim Miller

When is there ever a Jim Miller thread? Yet, he has the most fights and the most wins in the UFC.

And this is a guy that was battling lyme disease for part of his career.

War Jim Miller.

Raphael Assuncao had an all time great resume as a Bantamweight but because he wasn't exciting and never became champ, most people just remember him falling out of his prime and taking losses. The guy has wins over Dillashaw, Aljimain, Rob Font, Marlon Moraes, Pedro Munhoz, just a legend that never gets his due.

Josh Thompson...He was defined too much by poorly judged decisions, most felt he beat Gilbert in the rubbermatch in Strikeforce which would have gotten him a UFC title shot. Also his decision loss to Benson was a huge robbery and had title implications for him too. He was a SF champ but deserved to be the reigning SF champ when it was all over. Knocked out Nate Diaz on Fox, was one of the first complete fighters at Lightweight.

Anthony Johnson, I actually think he's the 3rd best LHW to ever live and while he had clear faults, was just so incredibly solid a fighter and a ridiculously talented knockout artist with very underrated striking defense and amazing defensive wrestling. Bader, Davis, Glover, Gustafsson all in their primes. His LHW career was somewhat short but my God did it burn bright. One of the best lead leg head kicks in MMA history.

Gleison Tibau, one of the best offensive and defensive LWs in the UFC history. He's most known for his controversial loss to Khabib but his win over RDA goes greatly underappreciated. He debuted in the late 90s so by the time most guys saw him losing he was already well past his prime, 34 pro fights into his career before he even fought Khabib. The guy was a top 10 caliber Lightweights for what felt like 3 or 4 years straight.

Not exactly. This dude is beloved and given winnable fight after winnable fight and heaped with praise every time plus tons of bonuses.
Easily one of the most appreciated fighters.
Has there ever been a time his name isn't mentioned on a broadcast where the ringside team isn't head over heels in love with the guy?

Currently: Pantoja, Caceres, Jacoby, Taisumov, A. Hernandez, M. Rodriguez, Espino, Ferreira, Gillespie, Quarantillo, GM3 and Assuncoa.
Some guys in particular here aren't appreciated due to their lack of activity, for example Gregor is always fun to watch but only fights once in a blue moon so many don't remember it after a few months.

All time: Fujii, M. Torres, McCall, Pearson, Barao, Swanson, M. Brown, Stann, Filho, Y. Edwards, Noons and Lytle.
I'm definitely missing a few names on here that would fit, most of these are off the top of my head though.

Nate Marquardt often gets overlooked, but he was an awesome UFC fighter over his long run from 2005 to 2017. He always brought it in the octagon, with my personal favorite highlight being his memorable finish against Wilson Gouveia that looked like it was straight out of a movie. Plus, he knocked out Damien Maia in 21 seconds, something Anderson Silva couldn't do! And he jumped from the UFC to beat prime Tyron Woodley in Strikeforce, then came back to the UFC. Definitely one of the most underrated UFC fighters ever.

I think a lot of his fights are underrated. Especially the one with hendricks.

Why do you think that? Have you asked people how they rate that fight?

Lol, weird take, bro.

Winnable fights? In other words, match ups that make sense? Getting matched up with fights that you have a chance of winning sounds reasonable.

Secondly, he gets bonuses because he earns them.

Also, it's the job of the commentary team to hype him up before his fights.

You didn't mention the fans though and that's what I'm actually talking about. Of course the fans like him, but for all he's done, it's not like we bring him up that often.

Overall, pretty terrible post from you. He gets bonuses and praise from the commentary team because he's earned them and it's their job, but that doesn't mean that he can't be underappreciated by the fans. Those are two different things.

Raoni Barcelos, a current UFC bantamweight. Very very skilled and athletic.

Michel Prazeres. The Tractor. Went 10-2 in the UFC. At one point was 26-2. Current record is 27-4. One of his losses was at Lightweight, the other 3 at Welterweight. His 4 losses are to Kevin Lee, Shavkat Rakhmanov, Paulo Thiago and Ismail Naurdiev (who was 17-2 at the time.)

You clearly struggle grasping what the term "under appreciated" means and are getting upset that I called Miller a popular fan-favorite that has been known/beloved so much that they've kept him around for over a decade. Dana/UFC/Fans all massively appreciate Jim Miller and he is routinely hyped up for his longevity in the league. The craig biggio of MMA
