I had an ankle injury that needed to be taped badly before my match. I ask that Lex Luthor, mannequin, Matrix-Pod motherfucked Kip Kollar if he can show me to the medic so i can get it taped, and he says no we will not give you tape you can buy a roll for 5 dollars, with a huge attitude. What kind of crap is that?

I can see his point. NAGA has a billion competitors and if they offer tape for everyone who asks, it would be an impossible expense. Not that everyone will ask but, if they start giving tape away, word will get around that people don't need to bring their own tape. Every competitor in every event is expected and responsible to bring their own tape and supplies. You would not show up without your cup, mouth piece, or gi? We don't provide tape at our sambo events and don't even have it for sale. It is the fighter's/coach's job to bring what he needs. Never depend of a promoter. If you get injured during the match, the medic should have supplies for that only.

Now, having said that, he did not have to be rude about it. You are not the first I have heard to complain about his rude behavior. He could have had the medic tape it up for you, tell you that next time you must bring your own, and call it a day and a good deed done

I can see where he's coming from about not giving tape out but he didn't have to be a prick about it. I've never competed at NAGA before but I plan to this summer when they come to my town for the first time. Thanks for the heads up about this guy's attitude.

Last NAGA I went to (in 2004), he announced the Pride results on the PA system before the airtime that night - we were all so pissed because we were getting together that night to watch the fights! Some of my students have refused to go to NAGA since then simply because of the spoiler.

I had no problems with him. He was cool with me. Reffed one of my fights (you can see him in my video in the final match at http://www.youtube.com/w/?v=QoVF3vznj_Q ) and he joked with me afterwards. I had a blast at the NAGA, it was my first one, and I'll be attending another one in May, if everythings ok with me after my MMA fight the week before lol.

kip has always been pretty cool on the phone or if i'm just talking to him one on one, but at naga events and when he's busy, he does tend to be rude or have an attitude problem. i think he's an okay guy, but not a very good promoter.

I didn't have the problems you stated. At high school wrestling tournaments they can provide some taping supplies if you need it. However, you are usually expected to bring most of your own. I still think NAGA should provide basic care (white tape, scrunchy tape, pro-wrap, gause, sticky spray, disinfectant and antibiotic, clotting agent, etcetera) for those who forget their supplies or need supplemental help. You should have brought most of your own supplies; however, they really should have a trainer to apply it if you need one.

I know one of the trainers at my school jimmy refuses to go compete with them and had nothing good to say about naga or the guy that runs it

  12. Did you have the injury before showing up to the event? If so, that is your bad, but yeah he can have an attitude sometimes.

kinda off topic but I hate when I go to some MMA fights and I tape my fighter's hands and then some kid comes up and 1) asks for some free tape 2) asks me to tape his hands for free.

Its kind of rude. The medics at a tourney are there in case of emergencies. They should be providing first aid only. Stabalizing Pts and waiting to send them with the Paramedics.

If you ran into a Dr. you wouldn't ask, "hey Doc I got this pain that has been bugging me for a couple a weeks can you look at it?" So why ask a medic (who makes litle moeny per hour) to give you a couple bucks worth of his tape.

You wouldn't go to a fight without a mouth piece would you?
