Although neither Williams or Margarito never really fought someone stylistically close to Floyd, making it hard to gauge how well they'd do with him, I always thought they would be a nightmare matchup for Floyd. A good fight to watch and judge would be the fight where Margarito and Williams fought. They were monster welterweights. Margs was a lot faster then. And both guys punch outputs would make give Floyd fits, especially Williams because he was a southpaw.

I agree with Naazim with almost everything he says, but not this.

And I agree with this. Williams would have been interesting because of Paul's overwhelming physical advantages, but I think the overwhelming disparity in skill would be hard to overcome as well. I don't agree at all with Margarito.

Margarito would be battered, Paul's work rate would have made rounds close but still would pick Money.

Prime Tony was a mean SOB. High work rate and iron chin. He would of been a challenge to anyone.

PBF turned down a fight with him for 6 million and fought Baldomir instead.

Margarito was a beast Cotto and pre-Cotto.

It hasn't hurt Robinson's legacy. I don't think Margarito or Williams would beat Floyd. A prime Castillo had more tools than Margarito and he simply couldn't handle Mayweather's movement in their second fight. Paul was far too hittable and couldn't make an adjustment to save his life.

That's because for Mayweather, his haters will hate him no matter what, and his fans will love him no matter what.

I don't think either beats Floyd, but I'd give Marg a better chance.

I never knew Paul Williams had so much hate until I joined Sherdog. Paul was a matchup nightmare for the 5'7 PBF.
