Scientists from around the world have found a planet that is 50 times larger then earth is circling very closely around another sun a sun that is much much larger then our sun. I thought this was a pretty interesting story because this thing is standing somewhere where a normal planet would have been destroyed a long, long time ago.

i can't watch the vid at work, but da fuq an "artificial planet"? like a death star?

Lost it at "larger then earth"

Thanks for posting vid though. Will check it after work!

Yes but it could be large enough to store a small sun according to the video. In the video they talk about what a scientist talked about endless energy by encasing a sun with a dome covered with solar panels. The video does a better job explaining.

Where would you get the materials to build an artificial planet, and why the fuck would you build it so close to a star?

while i love me some hypothetical talk on a the possibility of Dyson Spheres, this new hubble image of Jupiter's auroras trump Earths by about 20'000x

In a galaxy far, far away

maybe the planet got knocked out of it's original orbit in a collision with another planet, and eventually settled into it's current orbit?

Or god put it there.

It's the wooden planet from the original Alien 3 script.
