Has any one used Myostatin blockers? Do they work? Are they safe? For those who don't know, Myostatin is a natural protein in the human body that limits muscle growth. Studies done on lab rats indicated a near doubling of muscle size (they found a way to block the gene). And in 2000, a kid in Germany was born that has this condition. Basically he has twice the muscle and 1/2 the fat of a normal kid, but he is like 2 times stronger than average and he appears healthy. Supposedly there are drugs on the market that help block the production of Myostatin in the body. Another question I have is if steroids do the same thing (block myostatin)? Or is there a safer product available than steroids?
There's gotta be a reason myostatin is in your body to begin with. If it were a hindrance, it wouldn't be there.
Your dick is a hindrance to society because it allows YOU to reproduce and it's still there... To the OP: I'm pretty sure all the myostatin "blockers" are commercial propaganda at this point. This is a code that many scientists are trying to crack but have more or less come up short so far.
Im no expert on the matter but im pretty sure steroids doesnt block myostatin. Steroids raises testosterone which increases protein synthesis which increases muscle mass and strength. A safer product would be something like creatine which is proven safe and effective. However, steroids are by far the most effective "supplement" to gain muscle mass and strength. There are different types of steroids so it all depends on which you choose. I personally have yet to try the stuff. And I probably never will. There are currently no myostatin blockers the market- As of 2005, no myostatin inhibiting drugs for humans are on the market, but an antibody genetically engineered to neutralize myostatin was developed by New Jersey pharmaceutical company Wyeth.[20] The inhibitor is called MYO-029 and recently underwent testing however the results have not yet been made public.[21][22][23] Some athletes, eager to get their hands on such drugs, turn to the internet, where fake "myostatin blockers" are being sold. Johns Hopkins University owns the patents on myostatin. -wikipedia Supplements out in the market today that claim to block myostatin are all a bunch of hot air. The only way to be like that German kid is to be born that way or to get radiation poisoning in hopes that it alters your genes(youll most likely get cancer or die though). Do you really want to have a myostatin deficency? It supposedly shortens your lifespan(myostatin deficient animals die young) and hinders endurance. I guess it depends on what your goals are.
