I think ufc got fed up with Conor. All this talk about him being neck to neck with Dana , C stands for Conor etc.. The way he acted was just getting too much . He decides which hotel to put Nate in , he makes guys millionaires.
He does not make anyone a millionaire. He is just a high paid worker but a worker like everyone else and he could get fired any day Dana wakes up and feels like it.. Only ufc decides how much to pay and who to pay.
In terms of money - ufc makes money on fox , fx1 , other tv stations all over the world, huge gate money. 60x million buy ins is alone 60million . Now they just added more profits - Reebok , fights pass, ufc game. The list goes on and on .
No they are not even close . Dana and Lorenzo are making hundreds of millions while Conor may be pulled few millions in his last couple fights. Say ufc runs 35 events a year. 20 fighters per event. Thats 350 fights . Conor gets 2 or 3 out of it .
Bottom line , with all this talk of Conor not wanting to fly for interviews or demanding much more money, they finally put their foot down to show who is the real boss.
Im sure they like him and they want him to fight $$$$$$$ but enough is enough. Ufc was fine without him and they will be just fine if he leaves . He knows damn well that he will never make anything close on his own .
