Please comment on my form. My depth I think is good but I'm sticking my butt out a bit. I'm doing a Zerocrew thing with my left leg, which I want to get rid of.

The music gays up for a tad during the 20, so watch out.

Looks decent to me. Some people will critisize the depth tho.

Cant tell what you are doing with your legs from that angle.

Nice work Klotz.

Looks like you needed a tad more depth, you are really close though, also maybe work on your walkout to make it a bit shorter and you should be set. Other then that nice work, you look well on your way to 4 plates

That's a lot of weight Klotz... So either way I'm impressed.

However, the more squat vids I see on these forums... The more I realize that most members only PREACH breaking parallel.

Maybe I should just load back up the 315 lbs I was doing before I dropped the weight to do them properly. It'd definately be an ego boost.

My thoughts also, for whatever it's worth.

Also, um...the music gayed up long before the 20...sorry.

Nice vid. I have to agree with others your depth was suspect. You were right about parallel on 345, and inch or two high on 365, and esp 385. Really push your ass back when you're descending. If that forces you to lean slightly more forward to counteract the ass going back more that's fine. Really spread the floor with your legs and push your knees out. Also try to be more efficient with your walk outs. All in all still very good.

I used to use a wider stance but it wasn't working too well for me. I think it was a flexibility thing.

Somebody just posted this on another (non weight related) forum.

...my god man are you TRYING to give yourself a bad back. Your good form isnt good form at all. You are rounding the top of your back and your back in general. Your legs look wobbly at times. Also the way you put back the bar in general is dangerous. You should walk it in both sides not dropping one side onto the other. If you miss then you have all that weight comming down one side.

Also you don't need to squat that low to the ground.

You spelled parallel wrong. And definitely.

And check out the other St.Wilhelm's videos. All have great depth. The ones put up for critique usually get called out for poor depth.

Or apparently on other forums for going too low...

yep...walk in the weight evenly....just walk straight forward when reracking...if you need to slightly dip then do so equal also....

You're right. Damn my lack of firefox spell-check.

And yeah, point taken. Pretty much all of the St. Wilhelm videos display good depth. But if we're being honest... It's VERY rare to see someone truly going as low as many people claim to be(on these forums).

Steven you're very right. We're often poor judges of out own depth.

You might also want to tighten your grip a bit, the bar drifts and moves quite a bit during your walkout, squat and rack. Maybe bring your hands closer to the middle of the bar to tighten your traps a bit more?

yeah i always tell people the guy beside you is a better judge of depth then you are.

For the most part the internet is just a place for people to make magical claims of being able to perform superhuman feats. It always amazes me just how many people are these incredible lifters online, but that number in real life seems a little lower...

Well if anything all these comments make me feel better since Ive been having a bitch of a time going truly deep. I decided to go way lighter next time to try and go a little deeper.

I only noticed because of firefox spell checker.

Anyways, a good reminder to be honest with claims and self-evaluations. Good looking out Crowder, and good for posting the vid Klotz.

BTW, I never really understood why people would make outrageous claims on the internet, especially to such an extent as some people do. It just doesn't make sense. Such as Seafood Walrus and his deadly kung-fu.

I like to have my elbows get a few inches below the top of my thighs when squatting. For me that's usually a pretty good measure of how deep i am going.....Also it's a physical reminder of how deep i am....
