Hey everyone, I competed in my second strongman contest. There was much less competition at this one than there was at the last one that I did but this was also a silver level event as opposed to the gold event that was the first event I competed in. Anyways, I thought I'd post the videos here because although I won, I'm looking to improve on everything. If anyone has any tips, suggestions, or comments about anything I would really appreciate it.

Sorry about the sideways videos. My girlfriend had to take them on her phone and she held it vertically causing the videos to come out that way.

Fucking good shit. That's some beast stuff. What's your height and weight? How do those farmer's deadlifts compare to regular deads?

Thanks man. I am 6' and 225 lbs.

The farmer's deads were easier than regular because the handles are so much higher than a bar would be so there is a lot less distance to pick the weight up. Also, I am stronger with my hips than I am with my back on deadlifts so the side handles allow my to use my hips more.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I've been working hard. Strongman is a lot of fun. If anyone has any tips for me I am definitely open to them. The stones are always my nemesis.

On the stones, when you're over the stone, think of the roundness as being a clock. You pick up the stone with your hands at 9 and 3. When the stone clears your knees, you have to somewhat set it on your thighs, then reset the stone to where your arms are at 10 and 2. You also have to "suck" the stone in to where it is very high on your chest. When you explode out of the hole, the stone will be high and much easier to put on the shelf. The first 3 looked really easy for you.

On the tire flip, your feet are way too close to the tire. You want to get down in basically what is a 4 point stance with the top of the tire being across your shoulders (or as high as possible). You'll explode up at a 45 degree angle (essentially I think of it is toward the tree/building line in the distance). Not only will doing it this way make you more explosive, it will significantly reduce the risk of a biceps tear doing it your current way (lift upward). It is also easier on your back.

    Good technique video:
