...
[that routine is totally kool]

the weight routine is bench: 2 warm up sets and 2 heavy work sets, same with dead lift and squat. And your supposed to do all 3 on each training day trying to increases by 1 or 2 pounds everytime.

Bench, squat, deadlift in one session? Err....no.

I'd do Deadlift on Monday, Bench on Wednesday, and Squat on Friday.

If your goal is to get big, i'd go higher volume lighter weight. 8-12 rep range 3-4 sets

Why not? I like doing full-body stuff from time to time....

Nothing wrong with a Bill Starr type program as long as you aren't going balls to the wall each day. The Starr 5x5 program has heavy, light, and medium days. Also deadlifts should only be done once a week at the most. The Starr program uses powercleans instead of deadlifts. You could also switch it to doing deadlifts on the heavy day and bent over rows on the light and medium days.

Sets of 8-12 deadlifts is the worst fucking thing you can do to deads IMO.

to the op: your routine sucks balls, your schedule is ok though.

Doing all three key movements heavily, three days a week is a dumb fucking plan. You don't need an IQ greater than your age to see that. I too like full body workouts (I do them 3-4 days a week) but I don't do all my key movments every day. One main lift, and assistance for it and the other two.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I'd never go all-out-heavy-to-failure on all 3 in one day... but I'll do some form of each, like DB bench, full squats, and romanian DL. Anyway, just wanted to make sure that we weren't saying "no" to full body workouts.

I was saying "NO" to all three main lifts on the same day, three times a week.

so what do you guys think is a good routine, i don't have any specific goals except size and strength, and i don't want to do much more than 3 days a week because of over training with mma.

ya thanks man, that's the only possible routine! the almighty stickies! why does anyone on this forum make new threads at all? everyone seems to know, much like you, that the only answers can be found in stickies or the search.

I'm going to agree with Lusst. Deadlift on mondays, bench on weds and squat on fri. Add in an assisstance lift or two for each and then some core and grip work and you've got something pretty solid.

*makes Smashius dinner*
*pops in a movie*

"So...how long you got tonight?"

Because that is what they are there for...to read and learn. Fuck dude, do you want to get better or not?!

I challenge you to read them and come off for the worse.

Threads dealing with the more interesting shores of training are the meat and potatoes of this forum. Basic queries which can be easily dealt with by our Automated Helpline Service are not welcome.

You said the following:

"so what do you guys think is a good routine, i don't have any specific goals except size and strength, and i don't want to do much more than 3 days a week because of over training with mma."

Even the most basic check through the St*ck**s would have given you EXACTLY what you wanted. I don't enjoy casting pearls before swine, nor do I like coming off as someone who get s his kicks through reprimanding people through a keyboard. Help yourself, or die not trying.
