Whats up everyone! Wanted to start this thread on day 1 but i figured its more interesting if the OP has a progress picture right off the bat.

I'm 27 years old, 5'10 and weight 195lbs at the moment. On day 0 of p90x i was 205lbs. So i've lost 10lbs since is started the program. I've played hockey all my youth up until 21 years old. I did Muay Thai for 3 years and for the past 3 years i've been doing minimal to no physical exercices as i've been very busy with finishing up and degree and starting my 1st real career job.

I recently decided to get back in shape and i wanted to try p90x as it gets great reviews and great results if you have the motivation to go through the whole program.

So here's my progress after 30 days. Doesnt seem like much in the pics but i feel so much better...i'm much stronger, WAYYY more flexible, and my cardio is great (althought its always been decent even after months of inactivity).

I'll update this thread as i progress through the program!

For anyone who wants to try it out feel free to ask me anything!

update after 2months of following p90x training to the letter

Noob(ish) Gains. By your own admission, you have been doing very little physical exercise for an extended period of time. Pretty much any program, if followed regularly, is going to have a dramatic effect on you.

for sure!! mostly making this thread for out of shape guys who wish to get in better shape.

Great progress. Looks like you got shorter too.

Not only are you stronger and more flexible, but it seems to have improved your vision as well.

What are your before and after bench/squat/deadlift numbers?

I realize the question is rhetorical and that you are pointing out that P90X is not a strength program (i think thats what you're doing), but I would like to point out that there are before and after numbers for pushups/pullups/wall sits. P90X is probably not ideal for most people on this forum, but at least there is some sort of progression programmed in.

This belongs in the chicks with iphones thread.

Who cares?

That's not his goal right now.

For once, I agree with you ;)

His goal, quite obviously, is not impressive strength gains, nor is he - by your definition of squat/dead/bench digits - seeing such impressive strenght gains.

He is seeing decreased weight, increased conditioning, and improved body composition. He is achieving his goals. Be happy for him, and don't try to force your own strength-laden goals on him.

There is a conditioning component to this forum.

You always agree with me, even if you have to do it secretly.

Haters gonna hate i guess!!

as for starting numbers

in 30 days (all these numbers are for maximum reps)

pullups : from 4 to 8

pushups : from 15 to 30

wall squats : from like barely 10sec to a good 30seconds without flinching

Once i complete the program i'll be in a much better shape than i was when i started, and i will start strengh training

Congrats on the progress. If your goal is simply to get into better shape then p90x will help you get there. Most people here wouldn't recommend it but if it gets you off the couch and active then it's doing it's job.

Good on you for losing weight and getting active. Doing something is better than doing nothing, and though I personally don't think P90X is the best choice, it's good that you've at least chosen something to get you started again.

Nice OP, although I feel this belongs in a log - consider starting one!
