My odd prediction for ngannou vs gane

I don't know if a fighter has ever looked as composed as Gane. But i think A Franky KO is the safest bet here.. Tough to beat the Nuclear option. Guys have got KOd plenty in route to outpointing. And they weren't Ford Escorts

Yeah. Well then post your bet slip of Ngannou by decision. It’s literally the least likely outcome of this fight.

With a claim like that sir, I'd say a ticket is in order for sure.
Ngannou by decision seems about as likely as Justin using his wrestling lol.

Ngannou via an exotic submission would be hilarious too

Gane and Ngannou meet in the middle of the cage and start making out. Right out of the Straight Dave playbook.

The Gane Train runs Bumgannou over inside of three rounds.

Easy work.

Lol Ngannou doesn't punch to win rounds, he punches to kill.

sorry but I can't get on board with this prediction lmao.

if it goes to a decision it's going to be with Gane as the winner. Honestly my order of likely outcomes are:

1. Gane via decision
2. Francis via knockout
3. Gane via knockout

Then quite a bit less likely would be

4. Gane via sub
5. Francis via sub
6. Francis via decision
7. Draw

I think it's going to be a decision, and I think Francis is going to completely dominate.
Gane looks to have all the tools to outclass Francis outside of a devastating KO, which odds-makers are betting on. However, I don't think it's going to go down anything like expected. Most seem to think it will be a more polished striker with superior cardio (Gane) taking on what may be the most powerful puncher in the history of the sport.

I think Gane isn't going to be aggressive enough. I feel like he's going to have too much respect for Ngannou's power from their sparring sessions, and he's going to try and fight Ngannou with footwork, angles, and distance. As a result, we're going to find out that Ngannou's shit cardio is a myth and was really the result of Stipe punching him in the mouth and wrestlefucking him. I think we're going to watch Francis walk Gane down all night and win exchange after exchange. Gane's tentative approach will prevent him from getting clobbered, but he's going to eat a bunch of punches from an inferior striker because of his fear to commit. It will be no different than when Khabib outclassed dynamic strikers because of the take down threat, but the threat in this scenario will be Ngannou's punching power.

I could see Gane turning it up late when he's down, but it will be too late. Francis wins at least 4 rounds IMO.
The rematch will be incredible, as Gane will come back a different fighter and ready to go after Francis. Mark my words, Gane isn't going to show up for this fight. He's going to look like Francis did against beast.
Naw Ngannou is going to bitch out like the Lewis fight and get out pointed from range quite easily. So sad

I give it about 6 seconds, post Ngannou loss, that there are multiple threads evaluating his bum-status.

One of the worst predicitons ever. It's Gane by UD or Francis by KO. But it's really Gane by Decision of gtfo.

Can someone tell me exactly where Francis' suspect gas tank came into play? The man has literally been out of the 2nd rd twice. And Stipe was wearing down on him and beating the crap out of him..so I don't know where this comes from. Seems to me if his tank was shallow Stipe would have easily gotten the stoppage. People just pick up on b.s. and repeat it. The most likely scenerio is that Gane stays away and tries to win on points...or he is overcome by the big lights and gets his brain rattled.

Its from the Lewis fight- both of their gas tanks gave out after round 1- he looked much better vs Stipe 2-

There are some truth in that.
UFC veteran Mickael Lebout made an excellent breakdown of the fight and he didn't rule out Ngannou winning by decision.

The thing is: Gane starts relatively slow, and Ngannou is the most dangerous when he counters. If Ngannou manages to win the first 2 rounds, Gane will have to come forward and get into Ngannou's comfort zone.
I also think Ngannou's cardio is way better than what people believe.

That said, I don't think a decision is the most likely.

That's completely wrong. There was no cardio issue in the Lewis fight.
The probleme was 100% mental.

I respect your analysis, but history says otherwise. Every fight in Ngannou's career that's gone to a decision he's lost a UD. And now we're talking about him facing a guy in Gane who is known for his technical prowess striking. Gane might be tentative but his versatility with his strikes and work rate will win rounds. If this fight makes it to a decision it will be domination by Gane not Ngannou.

The issue isn’t that Francis can’t be superior to Gane in 3-5 rounds, it’s that if he IS there’s a great chance that he gets a knockout.

The only decision scenario that I can see is that Francis keeps hurting Gane, making Gane cautious and Francis tired. We’ve certainly seen guys get hurt (TKZ against Ortega for example, or a few guys versus Anderson Silva) and be unable to do much the rest of the way even with a long time to recover.

That’s obviously not a favored outcome though. I’m guessing what you mean is that you think it’s more likely than the odds would indicate, because I doubt this would genuinely be your prediction all else equal.

TS is wrong. Lols at Frank gassing due to Stipe punching him in the face. Francis went blitz mode for a round and a half and sometimes you just cant recover from this. He learnt and walked forward throwing bombs against Stipe in the second fight. He will do the same again. Essentially walk forward and when the chance presents blitz for 3-4 strikes, then recover. I think he will have a gas tank for 3-4 rounds. If the fight goes past this its all Gane.
