My dog passed this morning.....

Needless to say I am absolutely devastated. I just came off of surgery and am recovering, then I find out my dog passed after being sick for a few days. The saying "When it rains, it pours" cannot be truer. I am trying to keep my emotions in check as I'm sure it can't be good for recovery, but damn this hurts. She was an absolute sweetheart and will be missed dearly.

I'm sorry to hear that bud. I gave a dog to my parents and they treat her like a kid. I'm scared what will happen to them when she passes. At least she brought you love when she was here. There is no filling that void but the happiness she gave you is something you can't buy.

Not even thinking about a new pup at this moment. I had 2, now I just have my little girl doggy left. If I do end up getting another dog, it wont be for awhile.

My dog was 10 years old, getting up there, but she had some health issues. She had cancer which we were able to get under control for a few years by the removal of some tumors she had. It came back a couple months ago and I thought she didn't have much time left. She ended up pulling through with some medicine. This time it came back a couple days ago. We got right back on to the medicine, but she wouldn't eat. It got pretty bad and she passed this morning. I was thinking of putting her to sleep before this just so she wouldn't suffer anymore, didn't get a chance to, but at least she's no longer in pain.

Yeah mine was in a bad way by the time we got him put down, still kick myself for not having him put out of his pain quicker

It will be 8 years since I lost my dog in May. It's really tough and since putting him down I've had no desire to ever want another. Dogs simply do not live long enough. Just give it sometime, and it will take a bit of it but allow the hands of time do its thing.

I have a St Bernard that slobbers and molts everywhere. His shits would put a bull to shame.

A chihuahua who barks and snaps at the heels of everyone she comes in to contact with. She has to sleep in our bed otherwise keeps us awake barking all night.

A miniature schnauzer who fucking barks 24/7 at fuck all. Given half a chance he rips my chickens limb from limb.

You can gladly take 1-3 of mine.
