Should I do it or does windows 10 suck? Thanks sherbros.

It will do it to you without your consent while you're asleep anyways.

It's OK.

I've encountered some annoying bugs though.

Shit downloaded on me Friday night. I was a annoyed.

It wasn't bad but I prefer windows 8.1. Changed it back yesterday.

@Fraser B ?

Windows 10 isn't awful but I liked 7 better. I'm also pretty simple when it comes to computers. Browse internet, word processing program, pron machine. Nothing fancy.

Turn off autoupdates if you want to keep it from autoupgrading.

Best decision I made. I'd keep having my internet interrupted by windows updating some fix and taking it's time. Every couple of months I go and get all the updates at once.

I'm going to ride out Win 7 until just before they cut off the free upgrade for Win 10 then get it.

I for one welcome our new Win 10 overloard because it updated when I was asleep.

There was a thread about this within the past few weeks and it had the # of the windows update to uninstall and "hide" from ever showing up in update list again. I did this on work computer and didn't notice any problems or the Get Win 10 tray icon.

Do the updates actually help? Would i notice a difference if i just turned them off then never doenloaded another?

fill the screen with uppercuts

Teh straight jab is more energy efficient in this instance

It's not bad. Didn't have high expectations going in so Ehh

If you are on Windows 8, then upgrade. If 7, then it's your choice. I use both (7 enterprise @work, and 10 @home). I find 10 to be quite nice and prefer it over 7.

10 is way better than 8. I just opened up a brand new Surface Pro 3 yesterday that had 8 on it... first thing I did was download Win 10.

Like all Microsoft products, it doesn't always play well with others. If you have a scanner or printer you might not find a driver to use it in Windows 10. I have one running windows 7 and one running 10 so I can still use my scanner and printer.

You can do the advanced install and dual boot it, keeping your old operating system, along with 10. The respected Steve Gibson from the long running grc.com put out a free utility to block the upgrade. Shady of microsoft to force this on people without their consent:

Turn automatic updates OFF

Go into Installed Updates and look for KB3035583 and uninstall it.

Go to start menu and type "cmd" in the search programs and files text box at the bottom then press enter

When black window pops up type "shutdown /r"

Goodbye to win10 chit
