He's not a pro lifter or anything like that and doesn't take any drugs or even supplements (he won't even take an aspirin for a headache)
Been having this question for a while on Shrugs exactly how high do you have to be able to shrug it up? When I'm doing a medium weight I lift to the very top and it looks like a perfect shrug but when I do a heavier load I can lift it up pretty high but not all the way would this count?
Edit: I've heard some people say its okay to cheat on shrugs as long as you get them up but I'm not sure how valid that is.
I hate when people do shit like this. In my opinion it is stupid. Not to mention, I wouldn't exactly call those "shrugs." His shoulders hardly moved, if they moved at all.
I remember reading an article by someone knowledgeable (Pendlay, Starr or someone like that) saying to shrug your shoulders up with no weight. That's what a barbell shrug should be like. Too many people do half-ROM shrugs. We wouldn't do that with other lifts and shrugs shouldn't get a free pass.

In order for any exercise to be considered complete, you have to follow through the entire range of motion of the targeted muscle. In this vids case, hes not doing that.
Other than in conversation, when else would one need to shrug?
