I’m laying here in the floor of my loft and I can’t stand up. I had to lay still for an hour before I could even sit up.

Here is some footage of me right now

Try pushing up with you elbows first, if you have a chair nearby, crawl to the chair and grab it to lift off. Its not because youre old it's likely because of weak muscles and low bone density. but honestly it could be a million things. Most people have shit necks and backs including myself. Its too much sitting, computer phone etc. Every morning do 5 minute of stretching right after getting out of bed. It will help tremendously.

You sound like you need a massage.

work out consistently, even if it's small workouts.

get a cane, they come in handy for all sorts of injuries as you get older.

Only time it happened to me, I had to wait it out. I hope someone here has a better remedy than time. For your sake.

Was standing in front of the bathroom mirror after a shower. Only in my bday suit, and I went and stretched up as much as I could. Felt something go up two notches in my back(not sure what) and my entire back locked up. Couldn't put my arms down or anything. Had to stay standing super straight, arms up, and naked. Seriously thought i would have to dial an ambulance with my toes and wait to be embarrassed..... Luckily it loosened up after like half an hour.

Ice and rest. When you've recovered, start doing things like yoga and working on your posture and alignment. If you're carrying some extra weight then start losing it. Clean up your diet.

It's mostly common sense. Don't go to a chiropractor.

Go to the doctor. Mine would give me a 7 day dose of steroids and a non-narcotic muscle relaxer. Day one you're literally taking 7 pills. You'd be amazed at how quickly you can heal up.

TS is right. Its the nr 1 sign. Your back is invincible in your early 20s

Best advice I can give for back pain is keep moving. Being sedentary is a killer.

thank god if you don't rely on your back to survive first.

I've went through it a few times, first when I was 24 and a fanatically training martial artist, back was never quite the same but it rarely gives out anymore.

Depending on the severity, it's taken up to a month or more before I felt confident really putting my back through anything. It always hurts somewhat but I don't really notice it much, it's just one of those things I learned to live with.

For me, I used ice mainly when the back was first injured, Sometimes, I used a heating pad but that might not be good for something that's already inflamed. Rest is the most important thing so you don't reinjure or make it worse.

Also, back injuries are complicated, the doctors don't really even know what they are talking about.

yes, if he's able to, definitely. Also, I strengethened the muscles of my back using light weight and doing "good mornings" with just a bar and no more than 50 pounds on it. That helped.

Most importantly, I try to never do anything without first stretching and warming up, never. The times I've reinjured my back, it's usually because I didn't warm up properly and I let idiots rush me into some training session or physical work. I began my ritual of warming up in private because people always come up asking what I'm doing and assuming I'm ready to go when I'm not. People are so stupid. So, when I did labor work, I'd park half a block away so they wouldn't start fucking with me because they always did, talking shit or telling me to start or whatever.

These days, I think it's not age so much as being a fat fuck that strains my back. Ironically, my back bothered me more chronically in my 20's than it does now because I injured it pretty badly and I was always working out.

it's not, your ego might feel that way but I've known guys who had mishaps in training in their teens and were never the same. I had my first injury at 24 and I could really hardly walk.

Been times in the middle of hard, physical jobs where I've suffered the same and didn't moan, finished the ridiciluous work anyways. As recently as last year it happened.
