My Animal Flex Review

How do you make your own pills??
Teach me!

Buy a capsule filler, (50 - 100 capsules at a time) size 0 is a good size,
Buy empty capsules the same size as the capsule filler (size 0)

Then purchase the raw ingredients in powder form.

Decide on your daily dosage of each ingredient, 1 x size 0 capsule will hold about 500mg, so work on that ratio (you can use the capsule filler to compact the ingredients a bit more if needed)

So say you have a capsule filler that does 50 X size 0 capsules and you want to be taking:

3000mg, curcumin
300mg, piperine
20mg, CBD isolate

A day, you divide the total 3320mg by 500mg and that will give you 6.64 capsules a day, round that up to 7.

Now you work out 50 ÷ 7 = 7.14

So you need:

7.14 X 3000mg, curcumin = 21.42g
7.14 X 300mg, piperine = 2.142g
7.14 X 20mg, CBD isolate = 0.1428g

Add these ingredients to a medium sized stainless steel mortar and pestle and blend together until they reach an even appearance.

Then follow the instructions on the capsule filler.

Just wrapped up my 44 day run of Universal Nutrition's Animal Flex Joint Support System.

I have a history of joint problems stemming from lifting (particularly in the elbows and left knee), and despite consuming copious amounts of Fish Oil, Chondroitin and Glucosamine, there has always been a great deal of discomfort (when warming up it feels like my elbows are on fire, but as the blood gets going, the pain subsides).

Looking for alternatives, I tried Orange Triad and Super Cissus RX, but they were actually less effective than the aforementioned Chon and Gluco supplements. Finally, after hearing some good things about Animal Flex, I decided to give it a try.

In each can, there are 44 individually wrapped servings of animal flex, consisting of approximately 8 tablets. If your averse to pill popping, this product is definately not for you. I started to notice a noticeable reduction in pain after approximately one week, and by the end of the cycle, I would say there has been a marked improvement in overall joint health.

While there is still some pain when lifting, it is not NEARLY as bad as before (probably an 80% reduction if I had to put a number on it). As an added bonus, my knee has stopped clicking when doing squats.

Overall, I would give the product a solid 9/10. It is far and away the best joint support formula I have tried, but the price ($50) and the number of tablets may be off putting to some.

Flex is the shit. I need to get more, my knees are flaring up and my elbows are shot, in reality I should not ever allow myself to run out of it. Animal is notorious for having 77 pills you have to ingest per pack, but they sell quality shit. Fury is the only preworkout my girl will drink, I loved Rage and Nitro

I would take the Pepsi challenge against animal flex Vs my recipe for joint pain.....

Guys, I'm done with Animal Flex. Mostly because I'm not happy with its effects (more on that below) but also because Animal supplements have been flagged by the Supreme Audit Office of Poland as potentially harmful.

Animal supplements on the list are:
10. Animal Pump
34. Animal cuts
35. Animal m-Stak
36. Animal Pack

Yes, I know that Animal Flex itself is not on the list however the testing is still ongoing and it may end up there after all. If four products are tainted then others may be as well.

But frankly, the above flagging is basically the proverbial "last straw" as I've not been happy taking this shit for the last couple months. Of course, this *may or may not* be directly connected to taking Animal Flex, however since I started popping them pills daily I have experienced:
  • weight loss -4kg (which was NOT a desired side-effect)
  • mood swings, irritability, periods of apathy / sadness (for no good reason)
  • digestive problems, bowel pains
  • insomnia, nightmares (srsly)
  • unexpected muscle cramps and pains
There are many review sites mentioning how Animal Flex may be dangerous in the long run:

However, we are concerned about the side effects of some of this product’s ingredients. While these are not formulated in high doses, they still pose a risk for users who may already be getting them from other sources.

In addition, studies suggest that some of the herbs and minerals in this supplement are not advisable for daily use. Furthermore, the feedback from its users proved that it’s not effective for everyone. Based on these findings, we don’t feel confident in recommending Animal Flex.

Animal Flex’s packets do not themselves contain toxic levels of zinc, selenium and flaxseed oil, however they put all users at a risk for exceeding their upper limit from food and other vitamins and supplements.
(...)
Lastly, there are too many ingredients in Animal Flex that can have potentially negative consequences for our panel of experts to feel comfortable recommending the product to our readers, especially men who may be at an elevated risk for developing prostate cancer.

Et cetera, et cetera...

I've stopped taking Animal Flex two weeks ago and have replaced it with a much more basic supplement called CollaFlex which contains only:
  • 420 mg of hydrolysed type II collagen
  • 140 mg of chondroitin sulphate
  • 70 mg of hyaluronic acid
https://elivera.co.uk/products/collaflex-x-60-capsules-osteoarthritis-treatment-collagen-type-2

No weird stuff, no extra vitamins, no zinc, selenium or flaxseed, nothing that can cause side effects in high doses. The bowel issues have stopped and I hope for the rest to cease soon...

Of course many of you will swear by Animal products and I do not doubt that they may have helped you reach your goals. However, my *personal opinion* after a substantial time of usage is rather NEGATIVE.

TL/DR: IMHO the supplement is expensive, inconvenient (8 pills/day), has *probably* caused undesirable side-effects, has many negative reviews online and has been flagged by government institutions as potentially harmful. I do not recommend it.

I just like to learn............but I generally keep myself to myself in the real world..........I do enjoy a good conversation once in a while......I don't have a permanent job at the moment. I pretty much do whatever needs to be done to pay the bills.........

You mentioned in your first post that you had knee problems due to muscle imbalance. Were your quads stronger than your hamstrings? I also suffer from knee issues and I suspect it could be due to a muscle imbalance caused by weak hamstring to quad strength ratio due to months of daily heavy squatting.

I can't remember what the PT said exactly, maybe it was that. You should simply visit a good PT and he'll tell you, it's a bad idea to diagnose anything via internet forums.
