Think about the mw division over the last 5 or 6 years. it was an absolute joke. To think that Anderson had to defend his title against thales, maia and cote is absurd looking back at it. Now the top guys in the division are Anderson, Weidman obviously, bisping, Vitor, Mousassi, Lyoto, jacare and about 10 guys after that who are all really good like Belcher and Rockhold.

HW is so stacked half of Cain's wins are against the same people.

no new contenders. that division is shallow as hell.

I wish Rashaad would go to the MW too. THen it would be truly stacked. I would love to see Anderson fight against Jacare, Evans and Lyoto-some real competition..

There we go again with the Belcher name drop. Amazing.

True.. I believe Rashad is better off at 185.

at 205, he's still carrying some luggage.

Yeah, not only that, but the guys from TUF 17 are decent filler mid-tier guys. Some of them can try to push hard to break out of it too.

hw is awful. Outside of cain and jds there are 5 good guys the rest are average at best.

lhw used to be stacked but rampage left, shogun is old in fight years, rashad is a gun shy wrestler again, phil davis is terrible, chael hasn't even won a fight at that weight, forrest retired, Bader just got destroyed again, lil nog is a fossil...I could go on and on. Outside of Hendo and even that's a stretch now, Glover and Gus, bones has little to no competition.

ww is terrible I don't care what anybody says. You have condit and Hendricks and that's it to compete with gsp. Ellenberger is a beast and so is Rory but they are far behind the top two contenders right now imo.

lw has a ton of guys, all of them really really good. idk maybe lw is way more stacked with quality guys.

I dunno man. Welterweight has the most talent I think. Koscheck, Woodley, Erick Silva, Siyar, Pierce, DHK, Lombard, Marquardt, Gunnar, Mike Pyle, Rick Story, Mien, Amagov, Gastelum, Hathaway, Hyun Gyu Lim and that doesn't even include ANY of the top ten.

The welterweight division is a shark tank. a crowded shark tank.

Hasn't he stated before that 185 would be a brutal cut for him? I don't think he would make it quite as easily as Lyoto.

I feel the opposite way about LHW. Not sure if Chael and Evans are fighting at LHW but them two belong at MW. And if both fight at MW, I would say the LHW division has to be the weakest.

how did bisping make the list? he's fringe top 10. he makes a great gate keeper. mw is getting better with some additions from strikeforce. give it some time. it will be a strong division again.

I don't believe that it's the most stacked but it is absolutely the best it's been in a very long time, maybe even better

Lyoto
Weidman
Belfort
Silva
Souza

Are all serious fighters

It has improved hugely, no doubt.

Best, though? I think Hendricks, Condit, MacDonald, Ellenberger, Lawler, Maia, Brown, Shields, Lombard, Pierce, Story and Kampmann have something to say about that lol.

MW is awesome though.

Better than it has ever been before, absolutely.

wins over cote, leites, lutter, and maia were not that impressive, not to mention fights like the leban, bonnar and irvin wins that were gimmes
