Just think MVP could have been like Izzy if he actually cared to be the best. But at least he puts on some fun fights.

Has there even been a reporter that asked MVP or Coker why MVP keeps fighting lower-level fighters? If so, what did they respond?
I would like to hear what they have to say about it.

Nope, that is just MMA has not been recognized as a sport until last week when Graham Boylan announced it is now. So they want to be careful.

I have seen worse bloody fights in Pride.

It's almost as if he trained his stand up with Tyrell Fortune!

That's because Scott Coker and his match maker use MVP for promotional highlight reels so they pair him up vs. random, often unheard of guys so when he wins they can put it on their Twitter page to get more viewers. Even there, Bellator hardly has any followers.

And it's a two way street 'cause Page doesn't seem to object to who he fights, he's getting a check fighting easy opponents so I really don't think he cares at this point.

Is Tyrell pursuing a rematch against May or is he moving forward? A fight against Viktor Nemkov might be too much too soon but a rematch or Sidenlikov would be good.

I'm pretty sure Ariel in some his interviews with Coker over the years has asked that. Anytime a reporter ever brings up things to Coker like match making or why are you holding an event the same night UFC has Jones vs DC or Paq vs Mayweather or whatever. He just gives you the good old promoter talk to justify all of it even when it's comes across as just grasping at straws.

Coker is just never going to come out and say we are morons or could've handled things better. MVP will just say I fight who they say I fight. MVP though should be yelling to the mountain tops about fighting better comp and he doesn't. That tells me he really has zero interest in testing himself against the best of the best. At this point in his career in Bellator every one of his fights should be against the top 3 to 5 guys in the division, period.

Yeah, the dude is 33 years old, has been pro for 8 years and is 17-1. It's pretty absurd that he's still fighting guys ranked far below him.

Assuming he beats Ross then really the only acceptable matchups are Neiman, Larkin, Amosov or Koreshkov.

I would settle for Jason Jackson tbh. Plus, Jason Jackson has shown some real improvement, it would be a fun stand up fight.

Three fights I want to see some day in my lifetime but I know at least two of them will likely never happen.

    I'd love to see:
    -MVP vs Wonderboy
    -MVP vs Michele Pereira
    -Michele Pereira vs Wonderboy

    Why Not Ruth vs mvp

He seems to now be moved to “opponent” than prospect.

    Ruth would beat MVP imho

Another thread about the truth of MVP and Scott Coker and staff matchmaking. You don't like the thread, then keep it moving. Or post something that is actually tangible about MVP and Bellator matchmaking for him under Scott Coker.

MVP vs (insert computer-generated create-a-fighter here) is Coker’s way if trying to have at least one highlight on a card that will likely end in 15 minutes of Kongo wall-n-stalling Johnson (with occassional nut shot thrown in for good measure).
