Lately I've been watching movies that I never got around to see, or that I was too young to understand or appreciate: Star Wars IV, V, VI. Blade Runner, Indiana Jones 1,2,3. I would like some suggestions for other movies, and also opinions on Dune.

Looking for stuff that's not recent or too old, 80's 90's early 2000.

Thanks!

edit: went over the suggestions and Will's thread, got me a good list. Much appreciated.

Delta Force series

Robocop 1. Such a underrated misunderstood movie. Genius.

Godfather 1-2.

Kiss Of The Dragon (Jet Li's finest IMO)

Man On Fire

Dead Mans SHoes

The Godfather I and II is a must see.
I suppose you don't want to see old movies but the spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood are pretty good too which show why Clint is considered one of the best actors ever.
Not much has been heard about that movie but I found it quite enjoyable. It's called Dogma 'cause if you starting thinking deep of it, it's a perspective of modern socialization and religion.
And imo the best biographical movie ever made is Ray. It's about Ray Charles and it's done in amazing way.

Stalker/Сталер (GOAT movie)

Akira

Princess Mononoke

Metropolis (1927)

Salo, or the 120 days of sodom

El Topo

Oldboy

A Clockwork Orange

Big Trouble In Little China
Stand By Me
The Man Who Would Be King
The Philadelphia Story
The Mechanic (the original with Charles Bronson)
True Romance
Alien
L.A. Confidential
The Cider House Rules
American Graffitti
Chinatown
Platoon
Rain Man
Boogie Nights

Some suggestions for Westerns-
High Plains Drifter
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Unforgiven (sleepwalk's pick for greatest movie ever made)
The Magnificent Seven (US adaptation of Kurosawa's Seven Samurai)
The Searchers
McClintock! (for some light-heartedness)

Definitely!

Also Requiem For A Dream and Pulp Fiction.

Requiem was honestly the only movie I've ever watched where after the final credits rolled I was speechless - brutal and brilliant at the same time.

I'd recommend,

Goodfellas
The Warriors
The Wanderers
The Bone Collector
Seven

Kung Fu Hustle.

One of the greatest of all time martial arts movies even if it is a comedy
