So last Saturday, there was UFC 190, but there was also World Series of Fighting.

Bantamweight champion
Marlon Moraes earned 70k to show, 70k to win his 8th consecutive career bout for the organization. We can all agree, it is much easier to win in WSOF against the likes of [should I even name the guys there?].

Rory MacDonald, a 12 fight UFC veteran fighting for the belt only earned 59k salary and lost a few years of his life in the process but hey at least he got himself some fresh new Reebcock apparel.

Hell, even Bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw made a measly $52,000 to show, $52,000 win to fight killers like Barao.

Oh, that's exactly what the matchmaker told Sefo and the board. But you know what..... he's making the money off Moraes. If his fighter goes to UFC, he likely loses him as a client as well. It's just a conflict of interest and he's gouging the company.

Some of his fighters I love, and they're personal friends and acquaintances, but the guy is shady.

If any of his fighters go to the UFC, Ali won't lose them, he probably will lose out on off the top money cause he won't be negotiating with himself.

I just saw Ali in the octagon recently, matter of fact

Cool. One guy on the payroll did well. Now how about you post the salaries of the rest of the guys on the card?

Abubakar Nurmagomedov: $3,000 (includes $1,500 win bonus) def. Jorge Moreno: $1,000

Islam Mamedov: $8,000 (includes $4,000 win bonus) def. Jimmy Spicuzza: $3,000

Jake Heun: $6,000 (includes $3,000 win bonus) def. Davin Clark: $3,000

Donavon Frelow: $3,000 (includes $1,500 win bonus) def. Carlos Garcia: $1,000

Marco Simmons: $2,000 (includes $1,000 win bonus) def. Jimmy Jones: $1,000

Cory Hendricks: $2,000 (includes $1,000 win bonus) def. Julio Hinojosa: $1,000

Gil Guardado: $2,000 (includes $1,000 win bonus) def. Pete Martin: $1,000

Lolololol 8 guys on a $1000/$1000 contract. Fighter pay fighter pay fighter pay!

They're paying top dollar to hold on to one of their biggest assets... Simple business strategy, but it's keeping them well in the game, and they keep putting on bigger shoes with bigger names because of it.

It's doesn't translate so well lower down the card though!

yeah but does Moraes look professional and wear sick a Reebok kit? Hell no! He has to whore himself out to random sponsors whereas in the UFC he could be wearing stylish uniform and get guaranteed money.

Yeah but they each got a million from sponsors

That's not enough, specially if you're a champion. Just imagine that he's probably going to pay some taxes, there's the purse of his Gym/Coaches, he probably has someone taking care of his nutrition plus the expense of eating/suplementing like an athlete should, someone encharged of his S&C, some type of physiotherapist or masseuse and all the debts until his next fight, which may very be next year. So, I don't know how much he's really making.

Are those guys top fighters? Do they train as hard as TJ does?

Maybe. Who are you to say they don't?

Moraes, the champion, made a whopping 140 times more on Saturday than 8 of his fellow fighters on the same card did. Yet when a UFC champ makes hundreds of thousands of dollars and another guy only makes $10k, guys like you whine like crazy about how unfair it is. Welcome to the real word: the guy at the top makes more than the guy at the bottom. Moraes is the champion, so he makes decent money. The guys at the bottom of the totem pole don't make shit. TJ made many times more than what the guys on the prelims of his card did; he's doing well given his stature.

Moraes' manager is the MATCHMAKER for the WSOF. It's an incredibly shady and problematic conflict of interest. Essentially he's negotiating with himself on the amount for his fighter and taking what is likely a higher percentage than he should.

He's essentially embezzling.

what about mendes who got 500k just to show. and who knows what his ppv cut looks like.

Shady shit.

Adam Cella is a UFC vet and made $800 to show at a wsof show. The grass is greener indeed.

Considering that he probably makes solid sponsor money, he's doing well. Good for him.

I don't think anyone is mad at the fighter about it. I think they're concerned how that's possible.... and rightfully so.
