Why not a positive story for a change?

Muslims have donated 10 tonnes of food to feed the homeless across London at Christmas, religious and charity leaders said.

Hundreds of Muslims flocked to the East London Mosque on Friday in a drive to feed London's homeless during the festive period.

Pictures showed members of the 7,500 strong Muslim congregation donating food as they attended Friday prayers at the mosque in Whitechapel.

Members of the congregation stood proudly in front of crates of shopping bags filled with rice, pasta, cereals and other tinned goods, ready to be distributed to people living on the street.

More than 90 per cent of the food, which will be given to homeless charity Crisis, will go to non-Muslims, with Christian Reverend Gary Bradley describing the drive as “all faiths working together for a common humanity.”

This comment is of importance, since I've already seen people (on reddit) trying to redirect and say that Muslims only donate to Muslims, cause Sheikh so and so, said that and that.

But it's all part of the Taqiya!

I wonder if the first comment will be something like "No wonder the muzzies donate to the homeless in London, it's practically a mudslime city already" or something along those lines.

90 percent will go to non muslims?

How are all the unemployed muslims eating?

Good on them!

Nope. I don't have any doubt that Muslims can do good things and some do so all over the world, every day.
And no sane person would say anything else. However, I simply think that doesn't refute the problematic sides of Islam, the problematic worldview of many Muslims and other stuff that can be criticized in a rational way.

If you say you only want to share a positive story why do you try to use it to ridicule anti-Islam views and throw in a bunch of strawmen?

Good on everyone involved.

And this shows what ? the irrelevant moderates doing moderate things.

I prefer Sikh temples, they always feed your ass there.

John Wayne Gacy performed as a clown at children's parties. Must mean he was a good guy since he did a couple good things.

Quran 5:51
O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.
^ read this and let it sink in what it teaches muslims

Growing up homelessness was something you heard happened abroad but today Britain's main cities are flooded with homeless, even young girls walking about with their bedding under their arms.

I can play that game too.

[Quran 2:40] O Children of Israel, remember My favor, which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill your part of the covenant, that I fulfill My part of the covenant, and reverence Me.
[Quran 2:41] You shall believe in what I have revealed herein, confirming what you have; do not be the first to reject it. Do not trade away My revelations for a cheap price, and observe Me.
[Quran 2:42] Do not confound the truth with falsehood, nor shall you conceal the truth, knowingly.
[Quran 2:43] You shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and bow down with those who bow down.
[Quran 2:44] Do you exhort the people to be righteous, while forgetting yourselves, though you read the scripture? Do you not understand?
[Quran 2:45] You shall seek help through steadfastness and the Contact Prayers (Salat). This is difficult indeed, but not so for the reverent,
[Quran 2:46] who believe that they will meet their Lord; that to Him they ultimately return.
[Quran 2:47] O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I bestowed upon you, and that I blessed you more than any other people.
[Quran 2:48] Beware of the day when no soul can avail another soul, no intercession will be accepted, no ransom can be paid, nor can anyone be helped.
[Quran 2:49] Recall that we saved you from Pharaoh's people who inflicted upon you the worst persecution, slaying your sons and sparing your daughters. That was an exacting test from your Lord.
[Quran 2:50] Recall that we parted the sea for you; we saved you and drowned Pharaoh's people before your eyes.
[Quran 2:51] Yet, when we summoned Moses for forty nights, you worshiped the calf in his absence, and turned wicked.
[Quran 2:52] Still, we pardoned you thereafter that you may be appreciative.
[Quran 2:53] Recall that we gave Moses scripture and the statute book, that you may be guided.
[Quran 2:54] Recall that Moses said to his people, "O my people, you have wronged your souls by worshiping the calf. You must repent to your Creator. You shall kill your egos. This is better for you in the sight of your Creator." He did redeem you. He is the Redeemer, Most Merciful.
[Quran 2:55] Recall that you said, "O Moses, we will not believe unless we see God, physically." Consequently, the lightning struck you, as you looked.
[Quran 2:56] We then revived you, after you had died, that you may be appreciative.
[Quran 2:57] We shaded you with clouds (in Sinai), and sent down to you manna and quails: "Eat from the good things we provided for you." They did not hurt us (by rebelling); they only hurt their own souls.
[Quran 2:58] Recall that we said, "Enter this town, where you will find as many provisions as you like. Just enter the gate humbly, and treat the people nicely. We will then forgive your sins, and increase the reward for the pious."
[Quran 2:59] But the wicked among them carried out commands other than the commands given to them. Consequently, we sent down upon the transgressors condemnation from the sky, due to their wickedness.
[Quran 2:60] Recall that Moses sought water for his people. We said, "Strike the rock with your staff." Whereupon, twelve springs gushed out therefrom. The members of each tribe knew their own water. Eat and drink from God's provisions, and do not roam the earth corruptingly.
[Quran 2:61] Recall that you said, "O Moses, we can no longer tolerate one kind of food. Call upon your Lord to produce for us such earthly crops as beans, cucumbers, garlic, lentils, and onions." He said, "Do you wish to substitute that which is inferior for that which is good? Go down to Egypt, where you can find what you asked for." They have incurred condemnation, humiliation, and disgrace, and brought upon themselves wrath from God. This is because they rejected God's revelations, and killed the prophets unjustly. This is because they disobeyed and transgressed.
[Quran 2:62] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in God, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

I can play that game too.

[Quran 2:40]

^ not really countering the verse I posted at all, not sure the point you are making at all.

But
You are quoting from chapter 2
I am quoting from chapter 5

The quran gets more violent towards christians and jews the further you go aka the later chapters that were written
this is due to the jews rejecting him, then it was christians and muslims together, then the christians rejected mo and it was the muslims vs jews and christians

I wouldn't get into a religious argument with me as I have studied the 3 abrahamic religions much more than you. sorry.

No you see, what I'm doing is providing context. Which you failed to do. You're doing the old "Look at how horrible this verse is" and then ignore the preceding and succeeding verses. Or get an understanding of the context. That's being lazy. Read instead of relying on some youtube video with a person spinning his own narrative.

The verses I posted clearly deals with the people of the scripture in general. Your words mentions the prophet directly so it's about him dealing with the Arab Christians and Jews. Arabs back then, and even now in my experience (but I am also generalising and only providing anecdotal evidence) have a tribal culture, where the clan is above all else. Ergo a Jewish Arab clan, a Christian Arab will not welcome the prophet with open arms. In fact once you read more you'll see that their faith is questioned and to put it in other words, they're "paper" Christians and Jews, who will revert back to sinning and not obey the Torah and the Gospel. Hence why the prophet should not take them as allies, since they were not upholding their own faith. However further reading in the Surah, God distinguishes between the hypocrites (and Muslims are also included there) and those that follow the Torah and the Gospel.

So again.. read.

like I said, you said I did not have any context to the verse I posted....as if the next or previous verse would have somehow changed what my verse was saying.
Post your proof of this or don't fucking quote me because it makes you look stupid.

"No you see, what I'm doing is providing context."
- right, but you actually have to provide context in relation to the verse I posted for it to be meaningful, tell me how i got the wrong message here, the message directly from Muhammed

AGAIN the verses you quoted in no fucking WAY contradict what I posted or the message that a muslim should not take a christian or jew as a friend.....go ahead, be a good dog....

Post proof? You posted the verse yourself a moment ago, you can read the other verses from that site you found the verses from. Or... and let me just throw it out there, you took it from a site that doesn't post the entire Surah, but cherry picks verses? Read.
