I don't doubt that but that just supports my speculation that the killer's motivation was rooted in Serbian anti-Muslim hatred.

You're the one that said "what happened in 1880 was completely irrelevant to the incident". it's clearly not and your comment just shows your understanding of historical dynamics is flawed, especially about Europe. him stabbing another person is what makes him unhinged, not him believing things that happened in 1880 are still important. cause a lot of people do, and about things that happened way before that, they just don't stab people about it.

He ranted on camera a bunch of anti-muslim stuff so def a bigot. The bosnian-serb conflict and hatred seems to be a logical angle for motivation unless something else comes out.

It's irrelevant to this incident in 2025 where a Malian man was stabbed to death. As far as the 1990s Serbian pogroms anyone citing 1880 to justify that is also unhinged. Hope that helps.

It's clearly not. the murder was because of centuries old hatred for muslims, transmitted at the level of the society he grew up in. You're just having a hard time understanding it. guy may have been unhinged, but his motivations, unhinged as they are, didn't grow out of something he saw on espn last week.

It's not. That's how history works. Motives are looked for in time, and in this case, hundreds of years in the past, to enact atrocities. just because your understanding of history dynamics is that of a 16 year old during spring break doesn't make it right.

He's most likely a Bosnian Serb and not a Bosniak. Bosnian Serbs are usually Christians and Bosniaks are usually Muslims. My theory is that this Bosnian Serb killed a random Muslim at a mosque due to hatred of Muslims. However, this type of hatred is more likely to be linked to his ancestral history, rather than the type of hatred currently promoted by the Far Right in France.

Oh, I forgot. There's a third possible ethnicity: Bosnian Croats. I can't really picture a Bosnian Croat murder a random Muslim, but I could be wrong.

And the suspect is French born and raised, of Bosnian origins. Which makes your position even more flawed.
