muerteverde's Judo t-shirt design contest

Here is the deal, we are in need of a good T-Shirt design for our judo team. The ones we have so far are not so great. So I am apealing to you guys to design the best T-Shirt you can.

Shirt design requirements:
1) It should be a logo, picture, drawing or combination of the three that is detailed enough to look nice when expanded to cover most of the area of the shirt.

2) Common grapphics types please so we can transfer, print and work with it.

3) It must include the words Club de Judo and Universidad de Costa Rica
(the designs we have so far have these words in a circular pattern around a simple drawing in the middle)

4) It can have kanji but this is not a requirement. The ones we ahve now have kanjis, and we have one guy ont he team who is fulent in Japanese and reads kanji and another who is learning Japanese and does pretty well. So it is up to with the kanji, and in any case, we can add that later if we think it would be better.

5) I am going to say, lets go until Septemebr 15th with the contest. That should be plenty of time.

6) Post in here or send me PMs. The vote ont he best design is decided byt he team as a whole. If one of you wins, I will post the wining design in this first post (by editting)

Prize:

If the design one of you sherdoggers is chosen, I will buy you one of the T-Shirts. If you live in the US, Canada or Latin America, I will ship it to you msyelf, free of charge. If you live elsewhere, contact me by PM first and I will see how much it is going to cost to do that. So the prize is a free T-shirt (and free shipping) if your design wins.

How about this

It will be formatted like a japanese scroll kanji coming down (I'll need your help on how the kanji will look or what it will read) and then an illustration of a judoka performing your choice throw preferably in mid throw.
and then the name of the academy across the botom.

How about for the prize you also add, a chance to design the letterheads and business cards that will accompany the logo and you promote my business to your friends and people who acquire info?

Sounds like something I would put some work into but not for just a shirt. I already did my complementary graphic design work for Ryangracie7 and crocop. :/

PM me if you want some professional quality work though. I have good drawing skills and can easily draw you up a nice bold design that would work for shirts and logos well.

I don't understand the animosity fromt he other posters here (not referring to the poster quoted above). If you don't want to do it, fine. You don't have to draw it yourself in any case. For what could be a few mionutes graphic design in photoshop with a pic you already have on your HD or can find ont he net, I was going to send you a free shirt, at my expense. The shirt will probably cost me no more than 10 bucks, but the shipping is going to kill me.

Ok man. I am talking money yes. I'm not expensive, especially for someone off this board (I did a t-shirt design for crocop through Fortunal pretty much pro-bono) but a *****'s goto eat you know what I mean?

I feel you shoji god knows I didn't go to school to not get paid. however, I really love expanding my portfolio to diffrent branding images and Identities, don't get me wrong I work in and Ad agency with a highly acclaimed reputation but it's always good to keep your portfolio current.

That's why I said how about the winner get to design the letterheads and Business card as well, Corporate Id's are what's lacking from my portfolio so I see this as some practice. And Muerteverde it doesn't just take us a few minutes to creat something in photoshop and to a normal designer that is a very offensive statement, since i know you didn't know we'll let it slide, but I would love to work on your design.

You missunderstand. When I said a few minutes in photoshop I was not referring to the pros on here who do this for a living and would take a decent amount of time to turn out a pro quality design that would be worth the money. I was talking about guys like me that would find a pic, do some word art, make a circle and slap it together and still be better than the designs we have already. I do not mean to imply that your profession is easy or unskilled, merely that I was trying to apeal to the vast unwashed masses yearning for free T-shirts.

We don't have business cards and corporate logos. for the winner to design because we don't have those things. We are a university judo team looking to print up some team shirts, at our own expense, and so far from the pic, drawings, and designs that we have produced.

No I cheated & used a clipart from Microsoft & modified it in Adobe Illustrator. Unfortunately drawing an original takes WAY too long unless you're getting paid for it.

There is more judo clipart, but you have to pay to buy a CD (I forget from where) & unless the clipart is a wmf I wouldnt bother because low res gif's & jpegs are unable to be infinitely resized & modified like vector files can.
