Muay Thai score; are fighters judged by their ability to remain standing? Against sweeps and throws.

How important is that? Any videos talking about it?

the short answer is no. I am not going to receive any "points" for blocking/defending your attacks. that being said, if I am able to block, defend, counter, the majority of your attacks, then I would be showing dominance etc. in the fight, thus winning the round.

Balance is general is often looked at in terms of scoring matches.

Eg, if both of you throw a body kick, and both of you check it with a knee, but the other guy stumbled after checking the hit, that'll score more in your favor.
