I think over time that MT range will become obsolete. The clinch work with good boxing will do the game content. Seems to me that in mt the options are there but wouldn't be with good hands going in and clinch score from there.

Not arguing, but how do you mt guys think it is the way to go? Fast hands and fleet feet will be the future it seems with everyone having judo like scoring takedowns.

No offense Q mystic, but your threads are getting hard to read. Why don't you clairify what you mean by Muay Thai range?

at least muay thai range is a lot better than kyokushin range when it comes to mma

Um, it isn't exactly like MT guys suck in the clinch...

I hear but seems like i see good strikers and grapplers still and think that it will go to the fast hand hits into the clinch where they will attempt too quickly. I havent yet seen a judoka get mt'd in there and wondering if I may be missing something. Plenty judoka have fought in mma and havent seen one vs mt that seemed mt.

I respect mt but wonder if it is a game thing as judo stand is strong from similar. Hands would be prevelant in standing strong fighters. Elbows, but one miss is very nice op for tite and I see too many in ufc.

I just like the boxing better and shouldn't have said range maybe. But hands are very adaptable compared.

You do not understand the MT range. The MT range is farther then boxing because of kicks and closer bc of knees. It will always be important bc it nullifies a good boxer if you can stay out of his range and work him with kicks.

Whery practical observations from sparring...

As a boxer going to thaiboxing there is huge emphasis on the kicking, good thaifighters will be hard as hell to get in on and it can generally be quite frustrating.

When you go to mma (which this post is about I think, albeit that it is confusing..) there are a sligth change of the pendulum that moves slightly towards boxing again. Takedowns change the game slightly...

But in the end all is of course fighter specific...

Yoshida didn't seem like he made the kicking range obsolete when he fought Crocop.

Don't you think it was a bit dissrespectful to just come down on MT and all of us, "MT guys" like you did? I think the MT clinch is huge in MMA. And kicks will always be effective if timed well. I think MT, JJ, boxing, sambo and wrestling are the big five and will always be. I think a good MMA fighter will always be well versed in MT and have great kicks. I understand that being a good kicker is a diddficult skill to master, but if you can master it you are one dangerous mofo! CroCop, Bas, Razor Rob and a lot of others prove my point. I'm not flaming you for having an opinion I don't agree with, I just think you could have said it differently.
