Does it exist. Who is competing. Any champ ? What are the last big fights at 94 and 94+ kg Muay Thai ?

Is a MW division alive ?

Last I seen was the pudgy tough guy Cyril Gane beat in France for some world Muay Thai Title. Does he still compete ?

Anything above 75kg only exists in France and Australia. I mean they bring out some 100kg tuk tuk drivers in the smaller stadiums sometimes but I assume thats not what you are asking about.

Muay thai, for the heavier weights, is just a way to gain experience/stack up belts. That way, bigger kickboxing promotions take notice and sign you.

There are champs but not anything that is truly world stage or widely recognized. As blazeblack said they are regional level champs.

Muay Thai doesn't get above the local scene at heavyweight.

This is why it's cringe to hear people call Rodtang or Superlek midgets. Trust me, you don't want to see HW Muay Thai ever.

I weight as much as both of them combined. Actually am around 115kg, maybe even 114, losing weight. It's almost as much as both of them.

I saw some HW muay thai farangs battling. They looked like they were fighting 2 fights. One vs each other, the other fight vs obesity and diabetes.

Midgets is disrespectful, not communication of a decent person.
They're just very light. Like 60 kg.

I like 70 kg and +.

Actually in mma with the multitude of techniques and weight cutting I also dig the 135 and 145 divisions.

I was a huge fan of K1 and it had a great K1 max 70 kg division. One of my inspirations is Buakaw Banchamek. When he was Por Pramuk. To this day I throw front kicks every bag workout cause I saw him win the wgp and destroy Masato with front kicks. It was funny, he literally had no answer for his teeps and push kicks.

That's not exactly what I meant but you aren't exactly wrong.

In my eyes, winning an alphabet Heavyweight muay thai title is like batting really well in the minors. Talent scouts are likely to give you a shot in the big leagues.

Y'all missed out on this forum back when Carnage was a big deal.

MT over 160 lbs is basically non existent and always has been outside of a few big fish in a small pond guys.

For heavier kickfighters Kickboxing had always been the biggest test.

Who did he fight in Muay Thai. He was like 94 kg. Only saw his k1 fights

Err... Slowinsky, McKinnon, Kaoklai. Those are the more prominent names that I remember. He fought Spong too, in Modified Muay Thai (no elbows).

I remember the Spong fight being k1, under their banner, or the rematch was under k1. Slovinski Corbet in MT must've been a war. Kaoklai always having to fight bigger guys. Today he would fit into the MW Glory circuit.

Spong probably ended Carnages career. I think he busted his ear. No more easy match ups. When you go something like 50-1 you know you're fighting the wrong competition. Well who doesn't like winning. I read about how Nathan is not doing well sometimes. Like pain and anxiety. What's up with that. There's K1 fighters who took way more losses and knockouts and seem to be fine.

Outside of the guys Blazeblack listed he primarily fought cans which was a source of criticism. He also looked good doing it which was why he got a lot of hype too. His argument for not going the K-1 route was that it was open weight and he was at the bottom of that weight level, which I guess was an understandable take.

The Spong fight was for a wmc title. It was supposed to be full rules but Spong's camp demanded the exclusion of elbows.

He fought, and beat, that Russian dude Magomedov too. But that may have not been under full rules either. It was for a wmc belt but it was on a K-1 card, so elbows were probably off the table. I don't remember that fight so well.

I saw most of these fights on YouTube when I first got really interested in muay thai and kickboxing again. Back then every fight on YouTube looked like it was filmed with a potato.

*** edit *** I just checked Carnage's wiki, looks like he beat Zhuravlev in muay thai too. BTW the Spong fight was definitely not on a K-1 card, it was on one of those Champions of Champions muay thai cards in Jamaica. Also it was Saki that busted his ear not Spong.

Spong rematch was on a glory kickobxing card. First fight was a no contest. I think the ref stopped it and Nathan continued and proceeded to knock out Tyrone, from what I remember. First fight. Second fight was glory and Spong tkod Corbet round two.
