Muay Thai Fighter Suspended For Illegal Titanium Shin Implants in Chiang Mai

Cheater should be charged with Thai equivalent of aggravated assault if not attempted murder. If I had that titanium rod and swung it and hit you in the head with it on the street I could expect either charge.

the hell was he thinking?....he could have killed him.

if theyre claiming he faked an injury to surgically add the implant, why does the xray show a massive shin fracture?

An athlete with a bone implant is severely limited and compromised in movement and durability so this story is fishy.

The issue is that he didn't mention the implant at all.

They're doubting he had an injury as he fought two months ago. A snap like that, you're looking at a year off. So, either he did break his leg and is fighting when he shouldn't be, or they're lying about the leg break. I'm siding more towards the former, to be honest. Either way, he shouldn't be in the ring.

From a Reddit comment:
Most of his tibia is missing and his fibula has been moved to its place. He likely had osteomyelitis (bone infection) of the tibia and had this salvage surgery. He's lucky to have a leg at all. The resultant construct isn't as strong as his native tibia. I would expect him to have a significant limp and weakness because of this surgery. I wouldn't expect that this plate offers an advantage. Sounds like bullshit. I have a metal plate with screws in my fibula and it hurts like a muthafucka when impacted. I had a guy drive his elbow into it in an attempt to parry my kick and I couldn't even walk the next day, and limped for over a week.
