I am new to MMA. I am looking for a gym in Tampa, Fl I have found a couple on google and i am just trying to get differant perspectives about the gyms. Khanomtom Muay Thai Griffonrawl Muay Thai Academy Freestyle Muay Thai Gracie Barra BJJ Tampa Any info is appreciated i plan on visiting these gyms to check them out.
A lot of gyms offer a trial period. That would be your best bet so you know what you're getting in to.
http://www.gracietampa.net/ Not part of Gracie Barra but in the Same Network as Gracie Orlando(where I plan on going this summer). It looks like they are a great breeding ground for fighters as they have frequent fighters participating in local WFC fights. Plus Matt Arroyo trained there, he participated in TUF5 and is a pretty good fighter. I also hear that the instructor, Rob Kahn, is a great guy and really works well with his students. Your best bet is to go around to local gyms or to meet current students who are already training at those gyms.
