No it's not sarcasm. I don't feel that Mt.Rushmore isn't really about who was the "best".Interesting choices. Is this sarcasm?
Unusual choices but I could see a case for them
Nice work. Yes, now that I see it, that's definitely the four.
Dang good defense of your picks and you found a way to include Ken Shamrock which makes you my new favorite sherdogger. No it's not sarcasm. I don't feel that Mt.Rushmore isn't really about who was the "best".
Shamrock represents the NHB days of MMA.
Liddell because
Need I say more.
Uriah represents the lower weight classes.
Ronda represents WMMA.
That’s why I picked them. Because like it or not, the UFC would not be where it is without these four men.Nice work. Yes, now that I see it, that's definitely the four.
Now that I think about it, not to be contrary, perhaps a better case could be made for Frank Shamrock. With the teaming up with Maurice Smith, he may very well be the father of modern mixed martial arts. At least the first one with such a high profile. He was a grappling specialist and Maurice Smith was a kickboxer specialist and they joined forces to specifically learn one another's craft. I believe that represents the beginning of fighters not being identified by one specific art.Dang good defense of your picks and you found a way to include Ken Shamrock which makes you my new favorite sherdogger.
I picked Ken because he is more recognizable and had crossover success in the WWFNow that I think about it, not to be contrary, perhaps a better case could be made for Frank Shamrock. my mom said thanks
That’s respectable. Anderson came along after TUF brought in a bunch of fans. He’s very familiar to those fans.If we’re limiting it to just UFC fighters, then:
1- Royce
2- Chuck
3- Tito
4- Anderson
I go back and forth with this but I’ve realized that you can’t put the modern day trailblazers because that’s not what the Mt. Rushmore is about. It’s about the forefathers and so it should consist of the ones who built it from the ground up.
Royce started the fire.
Chuck and Tito fed the wood into that fire.
Anderson added the wizardry that made that fire eternal.

What about Machida?
Haven’t they all? This thread's been done multiple times before...
wise post. I hadn't thought of it that way, but you're exactly right. If we’re limiting it to just UFC fighters, then:

2- Chuck
3- Tito
4- Anderson

Fair enough.Sorry but Machida doesn’t make the cut. Plenty of worthy candidates in line before the Dragon like Penn, Hughes, Georges...
