Moving out to San Marcos, CA in January

I'm moving to San Marcos in Southern Cali north of San Diego in January. Got accepted into nursing school at one of the community colleges and was wondering what are some great spots and things to do in the area. Thanks.

San Marcos is ok, you're just east of Carlsbad,Encinitas and Cardiff which are great beach towns. I live in Cardiff.

Well OP, San Marcos isn't apart of that. At all.

like mentioned get a place in Carlsbad, Cardiff,Encinitas, Leucadia, Oceanside even, all a very easy commute to san marcos.
