Hi all,

Fancy shaking my life up. Tired of summer looking like winter, miserable people talking about europe, and gernally feeling bored.

I've always wanted to move to the US, and need some advice on where I can go. Things I need:

- Rent for a 1 bed apartment around $1000 - $1200
- Good Jiu Jitsu (Obviously)
- Low crime
- Good schools (no kids yet but not too far off)
- A beach
- Good weather generally
- Good work opportunities (I am a skilled marketer)

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Tampa,

I cant speak to rent but good bjj. Low cost of living state. Beaches.

Tampa looks awesome, and actually condos look very reasonable to buy, can get a decent looking 2 bed place for like $100k?

Myrtle Beach but your not finding low crime any place in US

I'm so jealous. Best of luck!

The Boston area is the only city left in the US that I can think of that has the combination of factors you're looking for.
Only thing is that the weather sucks 6 months of the year, but hey you're used to it coming from the UK. Rent is still in that manegable 1000-1500/month. Beach is 15mins - 1 hour away, and the schools in MA are generally some of the best in the country. Great job opportunities too overall, especially for marketing. I'm in the same field myself.

For that price range you won't be able to afford any of the "good weather" cities, at least you won't be able to move to the low crime/good school sections.
Other cities I'd rather live, Miami, LA or NYC, but they're all easily 2x if not 3x the cost, and not necessarily better in any of the factors you mentioned other than the weather for the first 2.

San Diego or North of San Diego if you don't mind a commute. Tons of jiu Jitsu and the marketing firms have spulled out of Los Angeles. You can also look at areas of Orange County. Just need to find the right neighborhood.
FYI There are more guns in LA then all of the UK (this does not included the guns owned by the LAPD)

Houston area maybe? Lots of jiu jits. Should be able to find decent rent a little further out from the city. Galveston beach nearby. Freaking hot in the summer though.
