Movies you like, but nobody else does

Watchmen.

I told my friends how amazing the book was, greatly enjoyed the movie despite the slight differences from the book... When i got the dvd, those assholes got bored and didnt even finish it.

That's funny, because this was just being discussed in the other thread "Movies you hate but nobody else does." I think that it was mentioned a couple of times there.

And I'm with you, I liked it.

Wonder what happend to Neve? Haven't seen her in ages. :( @shadow_priest_x

She was actually on this last season of House of Cards. Other than that, the last thing I saw her in was this Lifetime movie called An Amish Murder. (I literally "saw her in it" and watched about 5 minutes before flipping over to something else.)

I think I was one of those people. I know a lot of people enjoyed it but from what I've read the hardcore fans of the books did not enjoy the big screen version. I have this on my entertainment center still. I'm going to give it a 5th try.

The Goods apparently :(

I really liked it but it wasn't without flaws. I have not seen the movie or read the comics in quite a while so my recollection may not be entirely on point.

I did not read the source material until after I saw the movie and I have only seen the director's cut. I know that one major plot point was changed but from what I can remember the movie stayed fairly faithful to the comics. At least as faithful as most movies stay to the source material anyway. I thought that the movie did a good job of capturing the tone of the comics as well.

This movie is fantastic. I dont know if enough people saw it to hate it.

Yeah you could be right, movie is pretty unknown to larger audiance. Just that everybody who watched it and talked to me pretty much hated it.

Dunno, maybe I can relate to main character too much so thats why I love it...but I still think its fucking awesome. Book is amazing too.

I have the comics on my wish list too. I've heard nothing but rave reviews about them and the related books as well.

I enjoyed the lone ranger probably more than I should have. The scene where the music kicks in and he's riding on the rooftops more than makes up for its failings.

Everybody seems to agree that the movie is boring but I cannot keep myself from watching it once in 2-3 years.

I love post-apo and for once this movie plays the realistic card : no men-fish mutants, no robotized cannibals, no psycho inbreeds in motorized quest to vallhala, just a coward actor and his mule in a half destroyed world. I like the "dark ages" feeling of it : small communities surviving without large scale order ; unable to communicate or know what's going on 20kms further, local warlords seizing opportunities to rebuild power, crowning themselves with pieces of lost knowledge. Plus Costner plays a pretty good anti-hero in it.
