Ive been wondering if I should get a new mouth piece. Mine works just fine now but thinking about it a really nice one would be good.

How much would it cost for a very good mouth guard?

Where could I get one?

How good do they get?

Should I ask my dentist about molding something or anythin?
 
if u get one def go with protech, they range in price depnding on ur needs, u can get a really crazy customized for abt 130 i think..ill be sure to post pics, as mine should be here ina few days..u cant go wrong buy buying something that is gonna pritect ur teeth and ur brain a whole lot more then a boli and bite

Im looking to spend no more then 75 dollars, which one should I go for.

They're both good. People that own Protech will tell you Protech and people who own Gladiator... well, you get the idea.
 
yeah damned if u do damned if u dont, lol...talk to both there guys..pm them, and see what they can do for u..it all comes down to preference
 
Get a Wipps, Shock Dr has one and many other companies too, they usually range like 24 dollars or and works great protects not just your teeth also your jaw and TMJ ligaments.
 
Protech. I heard some bad things about Opros. If ur planning on using a lot of money on solid investment, why not get protech?
 
I'm in the same boat as you, but I'd recommend talking to your dentist first... depending on your health coverage, you may be covered for a 'sports guard'...
 
For 75 I think go with a Gladiator. I think the Protechs cost a little bit more than that.

OPro is another option but we hear there are problems with them. They're machine cut as opposed to hand cut and so the height is the same. THis has let to a bit of gum cutting I read somewhere.

Ask the experts, Tom and John are always willing to write short essays on mouthguards to inform us ignorant ones

Why would the president of a custom fitted mouthguard company recommend a boil and bite mouthguard????

I recommend you do some research and ask more fighters what they think before you make any decisions. Your teeth are valuble. Keep that in mind.

lol Tom, I think he quoted someone and then said boil and bites are junk in his opinion and the American Academy of Sports Dentistry

Gotcha. I should have read all the way through.I agree then with the boil and bites but not the American Academy of Sports Dentistry. If anything that group offers some important statistics on dental injury and other important facts about the various available mouthguards on the market.

A boil and bite is better than nothing or even the most standard of mouthpieces. I think a gladiator would also be within your price range so long as you don't care about fancy customization. It would be worth seeing what your dentist has to offer and at what prices but I think protech and gladiator would be better as they are made for the sport. In any case go with the most expensive that you can afford as you really don't want any teeth knocked out.
