I'm very regret aversive. I don't like wasting time (he says as he writes on Sherdog, lol) or potential. Not sure if that's as good thing or not, but fear is a hell of a motivator.
I look at all the negative side effects of not doing what needs to be done, and it usually outweighs the positive effects of being a lazy POS. That's a great motivator.
Also seeing the results from doing what needs to be done helps.
Motivation is only really useful for starting an endeavor but not for maintaining it. I create a plan when I'm motivated to do something and I try to stick with the plan so it becomes a habit. Then it becomes far more sustainable. Making shit threads is now muscle memory for me
I love my job so I don't need much motivation for that. I actually hate relying on motivation for anything because motivation will go away no matter what eventually. I just rely on discipline. Discipline will always be there if you do it right.
