for me its gotta be Tim Kennedy, guys a monsters, just watched all his fights on fight pass and the guy is a savage... dunno why hes not treated like a legit threat to the title

awesome grindy cage wrestling and takedowns combined with some good bjj and submission knowledge...totally dominated bisping and survived with roger gracie on his back...he beat jacare as fair as I'm concerned but it could of gone either way

my other pick would be Overeem <-- why is he billed as some striking wizard, he's definitely a beast on the feet but he has a killer guillotine and a ton of sub wins

Michael Chiesa, Joe Lauzon, Cole Miller, George Sotiropoulos, ect.

Chris Weidman

I was pretty skeptical on Weidman, even after the first A Silva win. But right before his second fight with Silva I saw this and realized what a badass grappler Weidman was. Then after the second win over Silva I hopped all over the Weidman wagon.

Chris Weidman. I think he's one of the few MMA fighters with a powerful top game that's not afraid to sacrifice striking for positional control to finish (see fights with Lawlor, Munoz, etc.) He wasn't afraid to go for Anderson Silva's legs, which says a lot because so many people won't go for the legs in MMA, and Silva's as good as they come.

Garry Tonon is basically the anti-darce and has been put in strong attempts from people like Cornelius and Cooper, and Tonon said that Weidman got him "over 450 times." I think that says a ton about his abilities.

I was sold on Weidman in 2009. I guess I could say Ben Askren, but maybe you mean underrate jiu-jitsu guys?

Joe Lauzon, Cole Miller, Jose Aldo, Nate & Nick Diaz, Renan Barao, Johny Hendricks, Dustin Porier, Charles Oliveira, Tony Ferguson, Tim Kennedy, Korean Zombie, Paul Sass, Chris Lytle...I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot. I also don't follow MMA that close anymore.

Sometimes as sub-par as I think the grappling is in the UFC, there are some people that put on a hell of a clinic sometimes.

I love Joe Lauzon's butterfly guard. I think that's almost a perfect bottom game for MMA.

Everyone I know who has rolled with Weidman says he has a seriously beastly BJJ game.

This may not mean shit, but I think more evidence is the fact that there's like no footage at all of him doing any actual grappling since ADCC '09. I'm sure he does a couple little throws and armbars for the UFC countdown videos, but I don't think I've ever even seen anything of him actually rolling or training.

I bet you can go on youtube and type in almost any pro fighter's name and at least find one or two videos of them rolling. Weidman and Danaher keeping everything nice and quiet.

Robbie Lawler.

Watch rd2 of his fight with Rory mac. He negates rory with his butterfly guard like nobody I have ever seen in MMA.

He also tries to go for an xguard sweep in that fight. Although I was rooting against him, I wanted to see the sweep.

I'd say Robbie Lawler as well. Not because he'd outgrapple Weidman or anything, but Lawler's grappling is rarely mentioned since he smokes folks with his fists. He is pretty damn good, though.

See that's why I need to catch up on MMA. All I know about Lawler recently is that he's been killing it on the comeback. I never had a clue.

Shane Roller beat Hall twice and probably could have made a splash in nogi sport jiujitsu if he had any interest.

Also Hatsu, he isn't underrated by the guys who know him, he is just largely still unknown for how good his passing game is.

All quality.

Everyone is looking at guys who rarely finish, but are good grapplers. Look at the guys who have actual sub finishes that you dont think of as bad ass grapplers.

Korean Zombie
Donald CerroNAY
Terry Etim
Stefan Struve

You dont think of any of these guys as having killer ground games, yet they all have more submissions than many guys who are considered studs on the ground.

Jason "The Athlete" McDonald! For real. His fight with Demian Maia was amazing. I know he is retired, but whatever the guy never got enough love.

Been rolling with Hughes and Jeremy Horn since he was a teenager

Cant MMA grappling encompass more than just submissions? What about clinching, takedowns, top control?

I say GSP. He gets you down, controls you enough to ground and pound and get the decision.
